In 1978, the small enclave of Speedway, Indiana, had been rocked by crime, murder, and bombings. But Ruth Shelton, Daniel Davis, Mark Flemmonds, and Jayne Friedt were just clocking in for a closing shift at their local Burger-Chef on the evening of November 17th, 1978. When another employee found the shop open and the employees missing, he called the police. What began as a kidnapping investigation turned into a more grisly affair when their bodies were found in a rural field three days later. After nearly 50 years of tips, witnesses, and false confessions, the question remains: who committed the Burger-Chef murders?
