It's that time of year where we indulge a little more into our fears but generally we only look to spook ourselves with surface level shivers. We want to talk to you about the fears that keep you up at night, the ones that have you dreading your future or forever replaying your past. Join us as we unravel a little bit more about what fear looks like, how you can defeat it, why you need to defeat it, and what we're hiding from ourselves.

We all deal with a variety of relationships throughout out lives. The relationship we have with ourselves, our relationship with our own mortality, and all the relationships we have with other people around us. It's those relationships, the ones that circle us, that we discuss on this podcast episode.
We cover why debugging your relationships matters, why complaining may be doing harm, and what it looks like to take ownership of your own feelings and responses. Near the end Nathaniel and Chris talk about how they can show love to each other and why you should consider asking those in your life the same question. Our hope is that you take some of this dialogue and approach your relationships with a curiosity to help nurture and grow them.

Talking about race is one of the most silenced topics in the USA. Growing up, when we're told what topics not to discuss with others we often hear about politics, money, and religion but race is so far removed as a topic of conversation that it isn't even mentioned as something to avoid.
It's because of the sensitivity and silence around this topic that it needs more attention, it requires more discussion, and it requires all of us to do our part to help facilitate and create safe spaces to learn more about other people.
So, in Episode 5 we've brought on a special guest (Christian) who is a Black man living in a white-dominated country. We'll go through our backgrounds, experiences, and ultimately what we can do better to build a better bridge for unity.
We had users from our community ask some questions and we covered a few but sadly we could not get to them in all the time frame. If you want to see the questions as well as some more detailed notes on this episode then check out our Obsidian Publish page below.

How much can you trust your memories? Are your memories more reliable than those around you? Imagine seeing a horrific event and moments later you and your loved ones cannot agree on what you just saw, your memories have already failed you and began to distort.
That's what we'll be discussing in this episode of Mental Debugging. We'll chat briefly about how memories are formed, stored, and recalled and why that process leaves your memories open to distortions from others and yourself.
We also cover how you can work on improving your memory or hold onto the information you want to learn.

Imagine that you're driving to work and you get a flat tire. Normally you would be thrown into a loop of frustration but this time, instead of getting upset about the incident. you're thrilled to be in the sunshine, getting your hands dirty and feeling the motion of your body while you fix the tire.
Or imagine you get up one Saturday morning at the internet is down, you call the provider and it's a major outage that will take all day to fix. Usually, this would ruin your Saturday of relaxing but this time, you love it because you get to dive into that book you've been neglecting, spend more significant one-on-one time with your spouse, or journal more intimately than you otherwise would have been able to.
That's what this week's episode is about, learning to love the things that happen to you regardless of whether we consider them good or bad. This is a more abstract philosophical conversation than our previous but we hope you find something useful in it that you can put into your life to add more value and meaning.

What is self-care to you? How important is your own self-care? Do you make it a priority and if not, should you?
That's what we discuss this episode as we walk through our own self-care routines, where we lack in our own prioritization, and how we can use our relationships with others to improve our own self-care habits. Self-care is a buzzword these days and it means something different to everyone but we hope to give you some topics to think about when it comes to caring for yourself and those you love.
We can all do better at caring for ourselves, so let's encourage others to improve and show up in the world as the best version of themselves.

Death is potentially one of the most fearsome topics that we encounter in our lifetimes but does it have to be? That's what we're going to discuss today, reviewing our thoughts on death and the fear of it. We work to uncover some insights on regrets, the apathy of living, and the carelessness we have given to the passing minutes of our daily lives.
Our goal isn't to make you tackle death head-on with the vigor of a samurai warrior but to give more thought and consideration to your own finite existence. When do you suppose you'll die? What remains undone? What variables are in your control? There is much to consider and we hope this episode gives you the courage to start that journey.
