It has been a few weeks since Naomi Judd passed away. Naomi, alongside her daughter Wynonna, formed The Judds, a successful country music act that rocked the 80s and 90s. To say that I love The Judds is an understatement. Way back from 2008 to 2009—when I was living with depression and suicidal thoughts—I looked for reasons to not take my life. I thought about my children, cobalt blue, chocolate chip cookies, and The Judds. As long as I had them, I could keep going. So, when the news that Naomi had taken her own life came out, it hit hard.

In this episode, I discuss Naomi Judd and mental health. I describe how we tend to suffer in silence when we have mental illness and how we bury trauma instead of confronting it. I describe the time I was suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. I also highlight the role of addressing mental health in creating the life that you want.
