In this revisiting, it is our hope that we get to share this special human with those who do not know her. And for any of you still at a loss for how she could not still be in our lives, this is a way to listen to her voice, share in her story and smile at all she is still giving us from wherever she is now. Let me introduce you to Joo Eun Lim, a Quinnipiac University Occupational Therapy graduate student from New Jersey (very important fact!). She has always been super busy her entire life involved in various extracurricular activities both before and during college. She was Chapter President of her sorority junior into senior year which was a demanding role alongside an intense academic major. It was late into second semester of Joo’s senior year that she finally started taking time to really take care of herself. She now teaches Spinning® on campus, gets to actually sleep and is finally intentionally doing things for her well-being. Joo is a bundle of positivity and energy, and you will enjoy meeting this young professional and drawing from wisdom and maturity.

Meet Dr. Hayley Winchel, a QU Alumni who lives and breathes health and fitness! During her time at Quinnipiac, she taught group fitness classes and was president of the nutrition club. Today, she remains an avid weightlifter, hot yogi and hiker. As a college student, Hayley looked at her passion for health and fitness and love for science and decided to put them together to pursue a degree in Chiropractic medicine. Choosing a path in healthcare has been unique and challenging but even more fulfilling than she could have ever imagined. Dr. Winchel feels blessed to use her passion to help make a positive impact on people’s lives. Helping people to feel their best takes time and energy which can sometimes leave you feeling depleted. When moments like this creep in, Hayley has found that taking time to look within, and reflect on her strengths allows her to recharge and continue to show up as her authentic self, to be present and to shine. Meet Martha Williams. Martha was born in Kingston, Ontario but spent 30 years living in the US. Recently she moved back to enjoy her life closer to her family and to switch gears from city living. Our conversation spans all the things that fill Martha up: being creative, advocating for herself and others, sleep hypnosis and being around her family. Martha is a Spinning® Master Instructor and at the time of our conversation was working for Lululemon. Now, however, she is opening her own space which will combine all the things she loves best: cycling, coffee, art and people! We will certainly put her spot on our to-do list if we get to Kingston, Ontario (follow her to find out when it opens)! Doing work around inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) has always played a huge role in her life and work. Additionally, as a black woman, she is committed to being an ally for her community members in need as well as herself. As an artist, Martha is very intentional about representing people of color in mostly white spaces. You can follow her and her work on Instagram and Facebook @mwcreative2022
