Becoming a published author was no easy task. From having people push me into different lines of work to not seeing immediate sales, it’s been a long journey that I still am on. But along the way I’ve learned these important five lessons that I hope to pass on to the next generation of writers.

In this episode, we will discuss one of the consequences of COVID-19: increased Xenophobia and racism. Sadly this has hit me closer to home than I thought but fear not. I’ve got 3 lessons that I’ve learned in my life as a Black woman that can hopefully help you navigate these testy waters. Lacendaire: YT: https://www.youtube.com/user/Lavendaire

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I had to take a break for a week but I am feeling a lot better (Bronchitis and Sinus Infection).
But, I have good news. This episode is an interview with a good friend of mine, Captain Maryanna Sheck, USMC. We talk about her various experiences from her 17 years in the Marine Corps on both sides (enlisted and Officer), at the US Naval Academy, going through The Basic School (twice), being one of the first women to attend IOC (Infantry Officers Course), serving as Series Commander and Company Commander at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, and her motivational speaking career. It's a bit longer than other but it's a good one. IG: lilred954 FB:Maryanna Sheck

As we go through COVID-19 as a country, everyone seems to be getting on edge more. Tempers are short and anger flares high over the smallest of things. But at the end of the day we are all people and we all (for everyone’s sake) need to be nice or just stay home.

Teachers are the unsung heroes of the academia. In this time of "homeschooling" due to Coronavirus closing schools for week and in some cases the rest of the school year, the tables have turned a bit. I spent 3 years as a teacher (Theater, English, & Math) and it was a crazy ride. I've learned 5 important lessons that I want to pass on to the newest generation of teachers and for my fellow/former teachers I hope this give voice to the struggles and sacrifices you've seen along the way.
Here is a list of the YouTube Teachers and resources I mentioned in my podcast. They're great resources for everything both in and out of the classroom.
