Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with Madison Eker (@sumofusfest), the founder of Sum Of Us, a wellness brand that exists to empower womxn, trans and gender nonconforming folx. When she had to reschedule her live Sum of Us Festival when COVID hit, she moved it virtual and has turned it into a monthly events program and community for folx who need community most. SBG 54: Whip It with Could Be Gayerrr
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by Kait and Anissa from Could Be Gayerrr (@couldbegayerrr) to talk about why Whip It Should've Been Gay. This is a movie about ROLLER DERBY! Come on people! Show us a roller derby team where there are less than 5 LGBTQ players! We talk about the intense and inappropriate chemistry between Iron Maven and Bliss and speculate about Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page's relationship and the steamy kiss they shared for their Marie Claire interview. They even have Marcia GAY Harden in this movie, do we need to say more? We're thankful for our one canon lesbian character, Rosa Sparks, but she should've gotten more screen time and a kiss that was outside of the male gaze. Plus Alia Shawkat and Ellen Page as best friends...this movie can't be straight. Follow along on Twitter @lezhangoutpod and Facebook and Instagram (@lezhangoutpod).

We also talk about the moment that she found out that April and Sterling were going to become Stepril! We also talk about that which must not be named and the army of fans who will follow Devon Hales and the rest of the Teenage Bounty Hunters cast for all of the projects they'll be in for the rest of their careers. 405: The Thea-Gay-tre with Heather Reid
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with Heather Reid(@heatherreid), singer and songwriter from The Murmurs, Redcar and current musical theatre songwriter. We chat about LGBTQ representation in musical theatre from canon representation in Rent and Prom The Musical to the strong headcanon of Wicked and Heather thinks Dear Evan Hanson should've been gay. We talk about all of the steps that it takes to get a musical from the songwriting stage all the way to Broadway. Heather's dream is to get a show on Broadway and we can't wait to see her get there! Listen along to hear more from this absolute joy of a person who truly believes anything is possible. SBG 53 : The Addams Family with Jessie Blount and Lark Malakai Gray from the Gayly Prophet
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by Jessie Blount and Lark Malakai Gray, the hosts of The Gayly Prophet (@thegaylyprophet) to talk about why The Addams Family Should've Been Gay. Lark talks about the T for T relationship between Morticia and Gomez and the ace vibes he gets from Lurch, Jessie is all about Gomez' dapper dandy fashion and the late in life coming out story from Margaret and cousin It, Leigh can't imagine that Wednesday Addams, played by Cristina Ricci, can be anything but a baby gay and Ellie argues that "Uncle Fester" finding his family is the most beautiful chosen family story we've ever seen in a movie. The Addams Family is queer culture and we were grinning from ear to ear talking about the enthusiastic consent between Morticia and Gomez and this delightfully queer family! 404: Lez-ssentials The Half Of It
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) dive into The Half Of It for this Lez-ssentials episode, a recurring segment on the essential movies and TV shows in the lesbian canon. We chat about the importance of friends and personal cheerleaders in high school, the strong bisexual vibes constantly coming off of Aster and our love of himbos. Are we making the boldest strokes we can make? We also discuss how this movie isn't a love story in the traditional sense and how we enjoyed it anyways. The ending is still happy and we hope we can get a sequel to see what Aster and Ellie are up to once they have it all figured out in college! Lez-ssentials comes complete with a Half of It drinking game because every lesbian movie or tv show should be accompanied by heavy drinking. This episode also comes with an original Lez-ssentials song based off The Half of It entitled "Lost and Found" Follow along on Twitter: Lez Hang Out (@lezhangoutpod) and answer our Q & Gay at the end of every episode. SBG 52: Juno with SweetBitter Podcast
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by Leesa Charlotte (@leesacharlotte) and Alyse Knorr, the team behind Ellie's new podcast Sweetbitter, a podcast about the life of Sappho, launching October 15th, to talk about why Juno Should've Been Gay. Has Ellen Page ever played a straight character? Consensus says....no. How much better would Juno have been if she gave her baby to a couple of nice lesbians? Juno has her gay awakening, Rebecca finds a cool Asian girlfriend, who, like dresses awesome and rocks out...but we don't want to be too particular. Paulie Bleecker is a stand in lesbian if we've ever seen one and we all know that Juno's far more in love with her best friend Leah. #justiceforLeah Check out their new podcast Sweetbitter here: https://sweetbitterpodcast.com/ Follow along on Twitter @lezhangoutpod and Facebook and Instagram (@lezhangoutpod).

SBG 51: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Should've Been Gay with Kassie Thornton
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by actor and new mom, Kassie Thornton to talk about why The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Should've Been Gay. Even looking at fan edits, you can tell that Susie Myers is a little lesbian. She's clearly in love with Midge and we think Midge and Susie would make one heck of a couple. Alex Borstein has said that Susie is pansexual, but the show has never dared to speak it and for a show that came out in 2017, all we can say is make Susie gay you cowards! Honorable mention to bassist Carol Kaye who we would have definitely liked to see in a sleepover with Midge or Susie. Really anyone! 402: Gayngels and Demons with Nicole Maines
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with Nicole Maines(@nicoleamaines), actress and transgender rights activist known for playing the first transgender superhero, Nia Nal, on SuperGirl. We chat about where Nicole would be if she was still in welding class, how happy she is to be doing what she loves and the positive fan reaction to her portrayal of Nia Nal. We also discuss more diverse and nuanced representation where LGBTQ characters can be both Gayngels and Demons. From Nicole playing a vampire in Bit to a superhero, she's played both sides of the spectrum and wants to see other characters that explore the gray area in between "good and evil" where people are just people. Check out her new film Bit, the queer vampire movie we've all been waiting for on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/32PhiaL.
