Heading for a career on the stage in ballet, Dr. Linde Miles made a pivot after a career-ending injury. A devoted ballet dancer from the age of 3, Linde had to rethink her life quickly. Her mother laid out her options: College or a job. She chose the former and focused on her “other” passion, science. After college Linde continued her journey becoming a cancer research specialist, another demanding career. Now at age 33, Linde’s numerous achievements, both in and outside the lab highlight her passion, caring, and strong motivation as core values with two intentional legacies: high achievement in the lab; and even more important, to train and mentor others.
