It's important that everyone finds their own path when it comes to taking back control of their drinking.
In this episode, Sally shares her journey to recovery and sobriety through AA. She recalls her
early exposure to alcohol at a young age and how she quickly developed afascination with it. As she grew older, her drinking escalated, and she foundherself immersed in the club scene, using substances to conceal herconsumption. This ultimately led her down a path of addiction and alcoholism,where she felt the need to drink in order to function.
Sally delves into her experiences with different substances, including alcohol, marijuana,
and cocaine, explaining how they impacted her behaviour and socialinteractions. She describes her efforts to fit in and feel a sense ofimportance within her social circles. She also discusses her struggles withanxiety, depression, and a complex relationship with faith and spirituality.
The turning point in Sally's story comes when she starts seeking help and enters recovery.
She shares her experiences with therapy, outpatient programs, and AlcoholicsAnonymous (AA). Sally walks us through the 12 steps of AA, highlighting theprocess of self-reflection, making amends, and seeking spiritual growth.
