Welcome to the in your PODcket podcast, presented by Choice Asset Groups and Mackie Real Estate. The name George Cecil Harris probably doesn't mean a lot to those listening; however, he represents Canada’s most famous example of a will. George’s story was an unfortunate one. While working on his Saskatchewan farm, he became pinned underneath his tractor. For 10 hours. During that time, he carved into the tractors fender ‘in case I die in this mess, I leave everything to my wife.’ He eventually made it to the hospital after neighbours found him, but it was too late and he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The fender was eventually found and presented in court, where a judge deemed his will— known as a holographic will— to be valid. This week’s guest is someone that knows a thing or two about wills and with that I invite you to join us as we look to start a dialogue for you to continue in the walls of your own home and gain a better understanding of the impact a little planning can create. I hope you enjoy me chat with this weeks guest, Willful CEO, Erin Bury.
