On this special episode, we are joined by Archie, a returning friend of the pod, to take another trip back to the crazy 90's and talk about the wild film Natural Born Killers!
It's a frenzied, psychedelic onslaught of violence with satirical takes on American culture, the media and sensationalism of said violence. The film is like a fierce storm of frightening, surreal and hypnotic imagery that just doesn't let up. Is it deep or dumb? You decide!

In what may be our shortest episode of the podcast ever, we talk about two Canadian horror films: American Mary & Ginger Snaps! While American Mary may have some good ideas and concepts, does it execute them well? And is Ginger Snaps deserving of the cult following it has? Tune in to find out!

On this episode, we are joined again by returning friend Susan to talk about the very well made biopic The Social Network. Not gonna lie folks, we were very procrastinated and scatterbrained in this episode and we ended up rambling about crazy things. Even if the convo is distracted at times, it still was a fun discussion and I think y'all will enjoy this one. What are your weird ass experiences with social media growing up? Please let us know.

On this week's episode, we're joined by returning furry friend Jules The Nintendo Boy as well as a newcomer named Trace to discuss a little Japanese horror film called Hiruko The Goblin, directed by the innovative Japanese filmmaker Shinya Tsukamoto! Tsukamoto's claim to fame was making a lil' small budget cyberpunk body horror film known as Tetsuo: The Iron Man. After gaining notoriety for making one of the most craziest films in the world, he was able to make his first proper studio film Hiruko The Goblin, which is based on a manga titled Yokai Hunter.
How does the film hold up in comparison to Tetsuo? What does Tsukamoto uniquely bring to the table with this film? All will be answered in this episode!

Outro music: Estoc - Skrap Yardz Tool (from DJ David Goblin's Ork Muzik 20K)

Heads up: this episode is mostly raw & unedited. If there are any issues with audio and the overall quality, we sincerely apologize.
On this week's episode, returning friend of the show Susan joins us to discuss the hit film of 2008/2009, Slumdog Millionaire. It won 8 Oscars and received much praise from white people all over the west. Is the praise well deserved and has this film stood the test of time? These questions will be pondered over in this lengthy discussion...
We also revisit The Northman and have a more in-depth conversation about it now that everyone has seen it. Armand & Susan also talk about their experience seeing the bizarre & abstract David Lynch film Inland Empire in a theater. There is a lot to talk about in this long episode so strap in for the ride!

We're back with a long one this week folks! On this episode, we're joined by our good friends Archie & Susan to talk about what some may deem as a beloved 90's American classic "White Men Can't Jump." We also saw the new mind-blowing, fun & innovative film "Everything Everywhere All At Once"! Do we finally crack the code and discover the answer of why exactly white men can't jump? Has "Rick and Morty" ruined the discussion of existentialism? All will be answered and discussed in this episode!

[CONTENT WARNING! This episode contains discussion of gross, graphic & sexual material.]
Hey y'all. As you can tell by the title, this is not our regular scheduled programming. Unfortunately due to just a bunch of scheduling conflicts & bad coincidences, we had to delay our episode on "White Men Can't Jump".
We didn't want y'all to go empty handed though. So to make up for another episode being postponed, we present to you our re-edited version of our discussion on the very gross horror/comedy film Kuso! Back in October 2021, Armand somehow was able to convince a few friends to watch this and oh boy did they have some things to say about this nasty movie. Pretty sure this traumatized them. It was all good fun at the end of the day though and it made for one of our most entertaining and interesting film discussions! We hope you enjoy this classic episode. Once the new episode is ready to go, you'll get it ASAP! Thank you so much for your love, patience and understanding. We really do appreciate it.

Hey everyone. As you can tell by the title, this is not our typical programming.
You may have noticed that we have been quiet for the past month or so. You may have also noticed that some episodes have been taken down. Well friends, we have been dealing with a lot of personal matters in our lives to say the least. Over the last couple of weeks, we have learned that a close friend of ours who was a recurring guest on the show did some terrible things and really hurt some people over the last few years. We absolutely do not stand with that and felt uncomfortable giving him a platform, so as a result we took those episodes down out of respect to those affected by his actions.
We were also going to put out a review/discussion of the American comedy classic Idiocracy, but life has just been real chaotic not only to us but our special guests we invited. They too have had to deal with some serious personal matters in their lives and as a result, the episode will be put on hold for the time being.
We sincerely apologize for everything. We'll be going on a break to recuperate and reflect. Follow us on Instagram @videotapespodcast so you can stay updated on what happens with the show.
Other than that, please enjoy the other majority of this episode where we just shoot the shit and talk about movies and shows we've been watching lately. Thank you so much for listening. We love you all.

Hey everybody. I know this week our episode on Wild At Heart was supposed to drop, but due to the length and how many people were involved in the episode, it is still in the editing process. But we didn't want y'all to be empty handed this holiday season so we got a good treat for you to keep you appetized before you get that full course meal next week!
This is the first episode of Jo's own solo series where she goes thru and rewatches all the movies in the Fast & Furious franchise as a means of therapy to get her mind off the hectic life and world we live in. She does some extensive research and goes into depth on what inspired this first movie getting made, such as street racing culture, cop movies, video games and how street racing was being depicted in the media at the time.
This series will be some exclusive content available only on our Patreon, which has yet to be made so be on the lookout for that if you love what you hear!
We will return back to our regular programming schedule after this. Thank you for your patience everyone. We love you all <3
