From fashion stylist to CEO Danielle walks us through the steps she took that landed her entrepreneurial spirit into her self made, women ran business. Migrating to the US from the Philippines at the age of three with her family, Danielle saw first hand what it takes to be successful in America and the inequality that is inherently laid out for women in the work force. Seeing her mother work just as hard as her male counterparts to receive equal recognition, Danielle knew at a young age the disadvantages that she would face in the coming years. Fast forward, Danielle finds her passion for the arts and despite her family’s wishes she graduates seeking work in the fashion industry. Landing a highly sought after career, she quickly discovers what it’s like “working for the man” when she’s pressured into working unhealthy hours in unfavorable conditions. When the pandemic hit and emotions where running high for everyone, Danielle suffered the loss of her best friend and mother. This loss and the realization that what she wanted out of life was more than what her corporate job was willing to offer her, she cut ties with the large corporation to seek out her life’s potential and thus created her very own, women founded and ran marketing agency. She expresses that it wasn’t easy. With no money and no support, Danielle left her full-time job to be a CEO of an all-female digital marketing agency. Her goal for sharing her story is to inspire and motivate females and minorities to start pursuing their dreams. Taking her experiences and knowledge coupled with her desire to be the boss she never had, Danielle is setting the precedent for bosses across the globe. This week I talked with Cassandra, a Functional Trauma Therapist about healing the gut-brain connection with people who have experienced early childhood traumas and/or a myriad of traumas. How people who tend to, depending on their lifestyle or genetics develop pathologies. From autoimmune diseases to mental health disorders, she shares with us her discoveries and how patients relapse with medical diets when we don't address our specific traumas. She suggests we cannot begin to heal until this is done. What does this mean? What does this look like? Cassandra explains how healing is a "top down, bottom up approach". From thought patterns to belief systems. And then again from the bottom up with environmental toxicities and chemicals, infections as well as how things like (breast) implants can wreak havoc on our bodies. Explaining how they can potentially cause a constant trauma response in the body when the body is already hyper vigilant and intolerant to invaders. She explains how the body feels the need to protect itself due to our traumatic experiences, how layering in an implant of any sort (screws, metal plates, etc.) can trigger a trauma response and open up a world of medical troubles. Clean it up and reprogram, she says. It can be done! Cassandra dives a little deeper and opens up about her own personal experiences with trauma and what led her to initially seek implants. She shares with us how her own traumas resulted in chronic sickness, manifesting to the point of needing her explant. This episode is jam packed with knowledge AND inspiration we can’t wait for you to hear!We cannot thank her enough for her strength and kindness in sharing her story!
