Tender curiosities:

  • Our grief for what has been lost is often coupled with another grief - the grief for our Self that was lost when we went from Wife to Widow.
  • Changing the 5-year plan to the 5-minute plan.
  • Authenticity is the new little black dress.

When my book, Grief Unveiled, was published in 2017, I was asked a really poignant question during an interview with my editor. “What’s the biggest mistake widows are making?” What a terrible question! But when I leaned into the question, something really honest came out… *Believing there is nothing they can do about the lifetime of suffering ahead of them*. We develop this belief that we are so inherently damaged that we aren’t worth anything else. Worthiness is often at the center of life after loss.
