The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich has been in Russian detention for more than 100 days since he was arrested and wrongfully in March and accused of espionage. Both the Journal and the US government have vehemently denied the allegation. Since February 2022, the Kremlin has been cracking down on what it deems fake news from independent media outlets about its invasion of Ukraine. The Journal's Washington Bureau Chief, Paul Beckett joins us to talk about the wrongful detention of Evan Gershkovich and the broader implication it has for press freedom.
