Steel is nearly everywhere in our daily lives; from construction to the cars we drive. Although vital to our modern industry and economy, the methods for producing steel are impacting our climate. According to the World Steel Association, the sector produced between 7 and 9 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in 2020. Founder and Executive Director of the Asian Trade Center and President of the Asia Business Trade Association, Dr. Deborah Elms, walks us through the challenges of the steel industry and plans to decarbonize the sector.
