Sarain Fox is a storyteller who amplifies indigenous voices. Sarain is an activist, a dancer, an award-winning filmmaker and an ambassador. During the pandemic when elders were at their most vulnerable, Sarain was compelled to document her Aunty Mary's story about her experience as a residential school survivor. This deeply moving documentary called Inende was just nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. We talk about the documentary, why having children is a revolutionary act and her hopes for the future. Sarain is a rare gift. She has been a Tedx speaker, a guest judge on Canada's Drag Race, and has been featured in Vogue, Nylon and The New York Times to name a few. She sheds light on her community as an ambassador for brands like Nike, Sephora and Canada Goose. As we spoke, Sarain was nursing her newborn son in the hotel where she filmed Inendi.
