Brands, social media platforms, self-proclaimed gurus, and bloggers have all been chanting about community for years at this point, and it's usually leveraged as a tactic to make consumers feel like they're missing out if they don't get in on something. By buying this product, you're in the in-crowd. If you don't buy it, you're not.
Let's step away from the buzzword factor and think about what community actually means.

Most of us have behaviors that we default to on autopilot. Without thinking about why we're doing something, our actions become habits. From there, the consequences of those actions can vary wildly. Sometimes our habits start to feel like things that control us rather than behaviors we control, and we may even wonder if we're developing a form of addiction. This week's guest can shed some much-needed light on that.
Jason Shiers is a certified Psychotherapist and Certified Transformative Coach working with addictions, eating disorders, and mental health for over 2 decades. Also in recovery for 27 years, his understanding of addiction is ever-evolving.

Anger, and what we do with our anger, can get in our way. When you're building the life you want to live, you're going to have times where you feel frustrated or like you aren't being respected. If you make an emotionally-charged decision in that moment, it can have some negative consequences that are hard to undo. Luckily, today's guest, Dr. Joe Shrand, can help shed some light on the ways in which we can best handle and deal with anger as it arises.
Dr. Joseph Shrand is Chief Medical Officer of Riverside Community Care headquartered in Dedham, Mass. He has been a Lecturer of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and an adjunct Faculty of Boston Children's Hospital. He is triple Board certified in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Shrand hosts a weekly radio show on WATD 95.9 FM, The Dr. Joe Show: Exploring who we are and why we do what we do. He is the author of Manage Your Stress: Overcoming Stress in the Modern World, Outsmarting Anger: Seven Strategies to Defuse our most Dangerous Emotion, the winner of the 2013 Books for a Better Life Awards, 2013 Psychology self help category, The Fear Reflex: Five Ways to Overcome it and Trust your Imperfect Self, and Do You Really Get me? Finding Value in Yourself through Empathy and connection published by Hazelden Press. Among colleagues and staff, he is affectionately called “Doctor Joe,” as he was “Joe” in the original children’s cast of the PBS series ZOOM.
You can find Dr. Joe's website here to learn more about his work. We highly recommend checking out his books, including his upcoming releases, which can be found here.

On the journey to building your ideal life and Finding Fulfillment, prioritizing tasks effectively often requires setting healthy boundaries. Figuring out how to set those boundaries– saying yes to some things and no to others– isn't always easy or straightforward. Luckily, today's guest, Billy Roberts, has something to say about that. Billy is a therapist, ADHD specialist, and Owner of Focused Mind ADHD Counseling in Columbus, Ohio, where he helps adults with ADHD organize their minds and lives, build confidence, and start getting things done.

When you're trying to build your ideal life, you are undoubtedly going to come up on situations where the list of what you could do seems infinitely longer than what you can manage to actually handle. That's where prioritization comes into play. While prioritization may not be as sexy as time management or productivity software (insert eyeroll here) in the personal development world, it's the foundation that makes progress possible. Today's guest, Darrell Williams, is here to help us get a piece of the P.I.E. with his frameworks for scaling success.
Darrell Williams is a growth marketing expert that utilizes creative marketing practices to automate and scale business growth at startup speed. You can find him at the links below:

How many times have you read hollow advice to "just meditate" as a part of your personal growth and development? Whether you want to reduce stress, learn to focus better, or be more productive in your workday, there is a nearly-universal talking point to just meditate. The advice is out there everywhere, but very rarely does it actually translate into something actionable and beneficial. That's where today's guest, Carrie Hamm, is able to help. Carrie is a superstar (the sentence could end there), particularly when it comes to demystifying the mystic.
Carrie Hamm is a business strategist and intuitive coach who specializes in demystifying mysticism to help people find the practical in the magical. She helps visionary leaders break through barriers to make their next big leap. She combines her intuitive skills with 20 years experience in business technology, and 20 years of intensive spiritual practice to help people activate the energy and mindset needed to hold massive expansion.
