For this second installment of eCom-versation, we chat with Jordanne Dyck who is one of the digital directors at the beauty company DECIEM. A graduate from the University of Guelph, Jordanne talks about her experiences in the co-op program and what she has learned about her interest in marketing management. She also speaks about how the pandemic has affected her approach to digital marketing and the tools that DECIEM has put in place to better serve digital traffic on online shops.

For the first eCom-versation of the 2021-22 school year, we spoke with Scott Siragusa regarding his journey from Laurier to his role at Shopify. Scott has been working at Shopify for almost 6 years in various positions which include outbound sales, expanding segment, and now works as an upgrades coach. Graduating with a BBA degree in 2015, Scott provided us with many pieces of advice to those interested in pursuing a career in E-Commerce, Brand Communication, and Marketing. He guided us through his journey about what inspired him, how the people around him gave him advice, and the importance of a mentor. Scott also explained what he has been noticing about the industry and how the pandemic has has an effect and what is in-store for Shopify in the coming years.

In this eCom-versation, we spoke with Vanessa Buttinger about her experience working in the E-Commerce industry. Vanessa graduated from Laurier with a BBA and gave some great advice to students wanting to explore a career in E-Commerce. Since she has been working at Shopify for about five years now, she talked about how the E-Commerce industry has rapidly changed over the past few years.

In this episode, we spoke with Moujan Tavakoli, who is currently working as an Associate eCommerce Manager at The Clorox Company. Moujan is a Laurier alumna of the Business Administration program. She gave some insight about why she likes working in E-Commerce, how her current job compares to her previous jobs in E-Commerce, and valuable advice for students looking to get into the E-Commerce industry straight out of university.

Today we spoke with Ian Bigford, an Associate Manager of E-Commerce at Dare Food Limited. Ian is a Laurier MBA and recently came across both an interest and an opportunity to work in E-Commerce - in this eCom-versation, we talked about his experiences so far and how he expects new businesses will adapt to have a more prominent online presence.

In our first edition of eCom-versations, we spoke with Tyler Masur, an Amazon Product and Merchandising Manager at Startech.com. Tyler is a Laurier alumnus of the Business Technology Management program, at Laurier’s Brantford campus.
