In this episode, I speak to NI Pride of Britain award winner Liam McHugh. Ever since Liam's daughter was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 1992, he has raised in excess of £270,000 and ran every London Marathon since then and many more. In our chat we talk about what led him to winning this prestigious award, and how his campaigning and fundraising efforts have brought life-changing breakthroughs to the CF community. 

In this episode, I speak to Karen Gallagher who's career spans many years. From Geography graduate to IG specialist.  I find out how she started her career in overseas charity Concern Worldwide, took the leap into consultancy. Since then Karen has  held many interim Director roles for NI's much loved charities including NI Chest Heart and Stroke, NI Hospice and why one such role in an arts organisation is her most cherished. No chat with Karen would be complete without discussing the "holy grail" of fundraising - Individual giving. known to some charities as their "bread and butter" we talk about why it's vital to invest into this funding stream and how to get started.

Her recent role as CEO at Cancer Focus came to an end only a few weeks ago. She tells us all about who has inspired her over the years and why qualifications aren't really that important, but also how now more than ever collaboration is key.
