Best advice
I’ve never listened to such relatable content ever! It has been so helpful and informative and encouraging to hear. It made me realize it was my relationship with food and with myself that needed to change, not another diet. Thank you Megan!

Great info
I stumbled upon this podcast and glad I did. I’ve learned so much. I just wish I learned this info before I ever started dieting years ago. Society has failed us. It’s time to get wise & take charge of our health.

Learning a lot!
I’m new to the podcast and have been binging on them. I love Megan’s directness and how she doesn’t beat around the bush. She’ll tell it to you straight. It’s nice to hear things I haven’t heard elsewhere too. Glad an accidental search for how much protein should I have brought me to her website!

I’m currently trying to get off optavia. I can’t believe I ever thought a package was healthier than a carrot! 😢. I actually feel dumb. I am learning from the podcasts! Thank you

Old man
Megan is the best. Take it from an old man. I know the show is aimed at women, but I listen constantly. Let me make it simple, I am 63 years old and have struggled all my life with losing weight. I made a decision in October of 2022 to figure out for good how to get healthy. Like many of you I have tried many diets only to gain it back. I was determined to educate myself instead of just blindly following a specific diet. My problem was that I had a LOT of knowledge about food and diet. And also exercise. The problem was that most of it was wrong. Having to unlearn it was the hardest part. Over the last 18 months, I went from 306lbs to 198lbs. And am still losing fat and gaining muscle. Even at my age. One of the major things that have helped me was listening to podcasts. I listened to a LOT of podcasts. Here’s the short version, LISTEN to her. Save yourself a lot of time and trouble. The biggest thing you need to learn from her is that you will NEVER fix the problem until you heal your relationship with food. Thanks Megan, you have helped me tremendously!

Lean papa
I was a non believer and a scale chaser
Weight watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Real Appeal, low carb diets, meal shake replacements - been there done that. None of it stuck.
Weight watchers -it’s all about the scale and shaming you when you gain pounds or miss a session.
Jenny Craig & Nutrisystem - it’s all about their foods. When you stop eating their foods, you gain - there wasn’t any “afterprogram” when I did them.
Real Appeal - through my medical insurance. 1 coach was great and i lost weight ; 1 coach was horrible and I was lying on how much weight I was losing just to get to the end of the program. Then the program ends and they dump you into a FB group for support.
In the 4 weeks since I started trying Megan’s recipes and able to eat really whatever I want in the lean protein, complex carbs, and whole grain options, I feel healthier and have lost a few pounds. It’s not perfect but neither am I. I’m in my 60s and losing weight is so much harder than it used to be.
I’ve learned a few things about myself & the food I eat since I started listening to her podcasts -
#1. I snack a lot when I’m bored
#2. I was under the misapprehension that nuts are protein. They are not. They are fats.
#3 . Calories are not equal and it’s about the substance & balance , not the calories. Yes calories count and over doing calories makes you gain weight, not the food itself.
#4. I try to balance the protein, fat and carbs at each meal. More protein each meal and I snack much less often.
This time I’m doing the changes for ME, not my doctor, not the meal program , not the online coach and the rewards are mine. I decide what I eat, how much I can walk & exercise each day and I try not to beat myself up if I overeat one day or have a low step day. I just move on and try again the next day.
It’s all about putting yourself first. I wasn’t a believer but I am getting there.

Such good information
I have been listening to Megan’s podcast for quite some time. I am so grateful for all the information that she shares. It has made an enormous difference in my life. I only wish that so many others who struggle with weight loss could find the podcast, listen carefully, and take to heart all that she shares. I know that we all want a “fast fix” but if we want permanent results, eventually we will have to quit looking for the quick answers and accept that we must take care of our whole self, doing the “basics” as Megan calls them. Get steps, be intentional and prepared about meals, get good night’s sleep, build some muscle - not like a maniac - learn to deal with stress and eliminate stress that we can eliminate.

Megan’s advice works!
After listening to Megan’s podcast for over one year, agreeing with all of her facts and ideas, I started coaching in April. She’s taken time to understand my mindset and help me to adopt healthy habits and make good choices. I’m seeing positive results!! It’s not all about the numbers on the scale, I’m losing pounds and inches.
I truly wished I had started this 8 months earlier. I’m so happy I’ve found these podcasts.

Transformative Journey with Megan
I began listening to Megan’s podcast about a year ago and found her approach interesting… so I gave her a call and wanted to work with her .. Now I’ve been working with Megan for four months, and the impact has been remarkable. her guidance has completely shifted my perspective on food. I’ve learned to control hunger cravings using everyday foods I enjoy, without resorting to fad diets. Megan’s emphasis on a balanced diet, rich in protein and fiber, has been a game-changer. Highly recommended her podcast and working with her!!!🌟

Fixing my Relationship with ALL FOODS!
I love Megan, and I find her perspective regarding food, weight loss, and self-care SO REFRESHING! She truly has a fresh voice and a unique take on food, and it is anything BUT another diet or eating plan that is bound to fail. She truly teaches how to make peace with food and with our bodies! She gives the tools to build a new, healthy mindset. I have been listening to the podcast for a year or more, and have been doing weight loss coaching with her for about 8 months now, and I am blown away by what I’m learning and how my relationship with food is changing. She makes no false promises or empty claims; she is direct and honest, and behind it all is genuine understanding, grace and kindness. Her guidance is simple and clear, and it WORKS!

What to eat in Menopause
This was a great podcast. I am guilty of diet culture and the negative things it has taught me. This podcast really spoke to me on how we are being manipulated by influencers, including doctors, to sell us something that we don’t need at any point in our lives.

Makes complete sense
Simplifies key concepts of how constant dieting unknowingly puts us (women over 35) in a really hard place to lose and keep weight off

Beyond thankful for this Podcast.
I’m beyond thankful for Megan Olson and her podcast, “Dish On Ditching Diets.” I’ve learned so much listening to Megan on this podcast! I’m unlearning so many unhealthy deep rooted “diet” mentalities and misunderstandings, and learning how to replace them with building a foundation on basic habits, and simplified and realistic information, that is slowly undoing my all or nothing, restrict and binge cycle. Its going to take time, but I feel like with Megan’s no nonsense, but compassionate and honest approach, I can finally break the unhealthy habits and mentalities, and build healthy ones that will last my lifetime, and be passed down through my daughter in hers. Thank you so much Megan!

Thankful!
So thankful I found this podcast. I love, love, love the straight to the point scientific facts and guidance! You have encouraged me to stick with healthy habits and not skip from one fad to the next. Even though I’m a busy mom, I’m realizing how important getting my steps are and how nourishing my body with the right foods are habits that will take me well into my 80’s. Also, you don’t gain weight while in a calorie deficit. 😉

Relatable and sensible advice from an experienced and qualified professional
I love this podcast and all Megan’s social media content. As a woman in my 50s I want to maintain a healthy weight and came to Megan by searching for recipes. However, her content offers so much more around healthy lifestyle and mindset. It’s super informative and she gives tips for making easy improvements to your life and health. Thanks Megan - I appreciate your work.

Megan makes so much sense!
Megan’s philosophy and method makes a lot of sense to me. So much of it is changing your mindset it relates to food. She teaches us how to get enough nutrition and calories to gain muscle. She reminds us that we must move our bodies daily to be healthy. She realizes that most diets for weight loss are not sustainable for the rest of your life. She points out that beating yourself up for eating too many calories is not productive, and does not help you acheive your goals. I feel motivated and empowered after listening. Thank you Megan!

All episodes
While she does have some good information I cannot get past her whining about her clients and the f you do t flow my rules then you are bad. I tried several episodes and all same. Asked a friend also listening and said same thing without prompt. I would find another podcast to listen to, I don’t need to be made feel like a bad person or take a brow beating from her. If I were a paid client and heard her talking about my situation the way she does I would be very irritated.

Thanks Megan!
I found Megan’s podcast when I was looking for weight loss for women over 55. I have learned so much of how to apply the basic advice from my doctor - the old “eat better and exercise”. This just makes sense and is logical.

Your body hears everything your mind says - so be kind
One of the very first episodes I listened to was Episode 5 - All or Nothing Mindset. I remember thinking to myself, “wait, I’m not alone? I’m not the only one who starts over every New Year, the 1st of every month or maybe even every Monday” I have since gobbled up each episode Megan posts and replay a few when I am needing a refresher or reminder. All or Nothing Mindset is on repeat a few times a year. Feeling “stinky thinking” creeping in - #10 Creating a Winning Mindset. Holiday season, vacations, lots of gatherings on the horizon - #22 Holiday Mindset Shifts for Losing Weight and #23 Getting your Mindset Right for the Holidays! Who knew redirecting conversations away from the food spread was such as easy way to avoid mindless eating/grazing!?!?! These a just a few of my favorite episodes. Since listening to the Dish on Diets, following Megan on IG, making the most of her website and having her cookbook as a staple in my kitchen, I have stopped counting calories, I have stopped yo-yo-ing with my weight and habits and feel better at 37 than I ever did in my teens or twenties…without restricting! Go clear your calendar and binge on all the episodes now!
