How to stand out if you have perfect GPA & SAT/ACT scores
Do you have perfect test scores, yet you’re still worrying about not getting accepted into your dream college (given the fierce competition?) Today’s guest is Anthony, a current student of The Passion Project Bootcamp, and in this episode, he discusses his concerns about getting rejected - even though he has a strong GPA and SAT/ACT scores.  This is something that shows up for a lot of high school students, and I coach Anthony on how to make perspective shifts that will serve him in a positive way  and what he can do right now to create a standout factor to strengthen his college application. You’ll also hear how he landed a research position, created a passion project and many more amazing things as a student in the Passion Project Bootcamp.  I hope this gives you a better idea of what goes on inside one of our paid programs here at Julie Kim Consulting. Again, it felt incredible to have another coaching call here where a student can share the insights, wins, and biggest takeaways! As I mentioned in the last episode, The Passion Project Bootcamp is open for enrollment from Monday, October 12th, 2020 to Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at 11:55 pm PST! Enrollment only happens twice a year, and we’re offering $500 off the price with the Code “OCT2020”!  I’m so excited because we’re also including bonuses that we’ve never added before, including 4 coaching calls, How to Land Research Positions Training Session, and How to brainstorm your Passion Project Zoom session. How Creating a Passion Project Shifted Her Mindset
As mentioned recently, we’re switching the podcast up a bit to share the behind-the-scenes happenings here at Julie Kim Consulting.  If you don’t already know, I have a signature digital program called The Passion Project Bootcamp, with a lot of incredible students enrolled in it. I’ll be sharing the 1-on-1 coaching sessions I have with these students here on the podcast, to not only benefit each of them, but to also help you as the listener out as well.  Today’s call is with Sonya, a junior in high school whose passion project has instilled a sense of purpose and a mission in her.  Creating a passion project has not only created a standout factor for Sonya’s application, but she’s feeling so excited about it, which you’ll hear today in this conversation. She asks me some important questions around mindset, specifically how to not feel guilty when she doesn’t complete everything on her to-do list, as well as what she can do to stop comparing herself to others (and who hasn’t done this)!  We also look at how to incorporate passion projects into college essays, the way to get published in newspapers and magazines, and I even edit and make suggestions on the Professor Outreach email that she is sending out to professors.  There is a lot of strategy and mindset tips packed into this episode!  Awesome news!! The Passion Project Bootcamp is open for enrollment from Monday, October 12th, 2020 to Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at 11:55 pm PST! Enrollment only happens twice a year, and we’re offering $500 off the price with the Code “OCT2020”!  We’re also including bonuses that we’ve never added before, including 4 coaching calls, How to Land Research Positions Training Session, and How to brainstorm your Passion Project Zoom session. 3 Strategies To Beat the Competition
It’s been awhile since I’ve sat down to record a solo episode, as I’ve been featuring a lot of amazing interviews and conversations on the podcast lately. Today I want to talk about something that so many students and parents worry about, and that is competition. When it comes to The Ivy League and top-tier college admissions process, the acceptance rate is so low that it’s easy for you to have the mindset that it’s all about the competition. It also leaves you wondering if it’s even worth it to apply, so I’m going to give you 3 strategies in this episode that can help you no longer feel so stressed out and overwhelmed about the competitive process. My student is interviewing ME!
You may have noticed the new intro and music at the start of this episode, and the purpose, mission and structure of this podcast is also shifting a bit. Moving forward we’re going to focus more on how mindset and mental health is going to help you get accepted into your dream college, and my goal is to help students live a healthier and more passionate life. I’m going to be also interviewing a lot of my past and current students inside my paid program, as well as coaching them and recording the session for the purpose of sharing the insights on this podcast, which I can’t wait to share with you. Today’s episode is unique in that one of my students, Maddy, is interviewing me. One of her passion projects is her podcast, Simply Empowered, where she talks about mental health, education and many things that interest teenagers today. Today you’ll hear my appearance on Maddy’s podcast, which I’m super excited about because you’ll listen to us cover a ton of topics such as college admissions, college application essays, mindset and so much more! Why my students decided to work with me
For today’s episode I’m excited to be interviewing two students of my 6-month college consulting program, The Ivy League Formula! Brianna just completed the program and Natalie is currently a student, and these amazing young ladies both share why they decided to say “Yes” to enrolling in the program, any hesitations they had before doing so, and some of the big results they’ve been able to create in their college admissions process so far. A lot of parents and students wonder who they will work with as they approach the process, and they are looking for support, accountability, strategies and resources to help them on this journey. The Ivy League Formula is closed until 2021, but I highly recommend that you join me for my free masterclass, where I’ll teach you the 4 mistakes that you must avoid in the college admissions process, as well as the 4-step process you can implement right away to create a stand out factor in your application and up level your college admissions portfolio. How my student landed an extraordinary opportunity using his Passion Project
In today’s episode of Demystifying College Admissions, I’m bringing you a conversation I had with an incredible student on mine named Richie. Richie is a freshman in the 9th grade who decided to “just do it” and go all-in on his passion project, Teens Against Racism. He reveals how he got this passion project off the ground, and the significant accomplishments the organization has received already - in less than one month. I wanted to share Richie’s success story with you so that you can learn more about how to step up, and level up your college admissions game. His story is so inspiring, and it proves that anything is possible for you too.
