Leadership is about setting up a vision, a direction, something which is high-level and serves as a map. Management is about the execution of the tasks involved with making a vision reality, paving the road drawn on the leader’s map. I discuss how we can think as the leaders & managers of our life.

Humans are part of nature, and a natural process cannot have its stages skipped. Think about crop yield; if you don’t plant the seed in spring, then you will not get the return in autumn. Because humans are a natural process we cannot skip stages; we can't get good results through quick fixes; instead, we need to look deep, and I mean deep inside our character; we need to build our inner characteristics like gratitude, empathy, self under-understanding. The real core humour values which will give us long-term success.

With freedom comes great responsibility. People are bad at managing their own time when there are no outside constraints. I have the same issue now that I am doing my thesis. I want to start doing the work during the day and leaving time for exploration (reading other things) in the evening.

People are inherently insecure, people have a void into them, and they are searching to fill this gap of insecurities with entertainment, alcohol and other things. Now, have you ever thought about why people want to belong to ideologies/groups (nation, city, football team, school club)? Bcausr people want to feel more significant than they are because this gives them security. Belonging to a group provide you with protection this is what people want: security.

Our imagination gives us a fake understanding of the world and has almost nothing to do with reality. In areas where we lack experiences we tend to extrapolate far away from reality. Today I received a PhD offer, and I felt like I didn’t know enough for this PhD offer, but I forgot to remember about all those years where I wrked extremely hard to get here, those nights when I didn’t sleep to finish coursework and those sacrifices of 65 hours work weeks.

I don’t aim to have a large audience for this podcast. I couldn’t care less if zero or 1000 people are listening to this podcast because the main theme of this podcast is having the chance of clarifying my thoughts. I am aware if I would have an audience, it would make me change what I’m speaking to fit to the audience interests. So by not having the desire of having an audience it allows me to have the luxury of freedom to speak about anything which is interesting to me.

I noticed that I have many thoughts which are not clear into my head but if I am just thinking about them inside my head I have a lot of noise and this doesn’t help me get to a clear conclusion that I want to restart it podcast and post all my thoughts as I am thinking about them so I want this podcast to contain rough, non-edited audios, were it’s just me speaking loud. I believe this will help others to see that they are not alone in the oursuit of gaining clarity. I believe this podcast will help me get mental clarity and I can’t wait to look at it in one year.

I have been trying to find a solution so I can finish the work before late evening. Apparently, the solution was so obvious and still not visible to me ... waking up super early.
This changes everything.
00:55 - What happens when you wake up LATE?
05:43 - What happens when you wake up EARLY?
08:12 - How to wake up early?

The best way I found to take fast decisions is to admit that 99% of the things don't actually matter. Hence, the single condition is to make a decision fast and go with it.
The thing that I am still struggling to comprehend is that you will never know the alternative. Hence, it does not matter what you choose at the end of the day.

Have you seen the famous video with Steve Jobs from his Stanford speech? It's about creating a plan by "connecting the dots".
-
Basically, it's all about starting from the goal and creating a plan starting from it. The traditional approach is to think what you can do now and how to get there, while by "thinking backwards" you find what are the steps to arrive there.
