Today we are talking about the topic of diversity.

Do you really think that your customers only look at your website?

Or are they perhaps browsing other websites or price portals and comparing the features of your products or services with the things your competitors offer?

Actually, I think this is quite a good development.

In the past, salespeople in shops were able to persuade their customers with technical data and information about devices to make a purchase.

Today, customers are smarter and usually know more than the salesperson, who is often only hired as a temporary employee.

There is also a lot of good information on the subject of sales training and customer acquisition in books from other suppliers.

And one of these books is called "Forget everything about selling and your customers will buy almost by themselves".

At least that's the German title and the author's name sounds like he comes from Germany.

I listened to this book today in a summary of get Abstract.

Because I also don't think that we as a company are the only way on this planet to attract customers.

In fact, there will probably be a lot of people who have absolutely nothing to do with the way we acquire our customers.

But that's one of the things I've learned in the meantime!

You can win customers not only with what you do, but also with what you don't do.

And in the book mentioned above, the author described pretty much exactly what we also see as our own sales philosophy.

It's not about talking someone into something or using any clever tricks to get them to buy something they don't want afterwards.

This is exactly the kind of thing that has led to the so-called coffee trips in buses for pensioners being heavily regulated in Germany today, because many a passenger has come home with an overpriced rheumatism blanket that they never actually wanted to buy.

But if you can say what you stand for and what you stand against, then you have the possibility to catch exactly the people you want to address and to scare off the people you don't really want to have anything to do with.

And for us, those are the hard sellers!

I hate it when people try to tell me that digital products on the internet are only available for a limited time, today only, and will never be sold again!

I hate it when I'm shown a countdown on websites that wants me to believe that this one product is only available for another three hours!

Depending on which product you call up on Amazon now, you will probably see a limited number of items there.

Even with bestsellers, there are only five or six copies left in stock?

Who's going to believe that?

Another problem with hard sellers is the idea that you have to hunt down a customer like an animal in the forest.

We find it much better when our customers find us on their own and come to us because they like the things we have given them for free on the net.

Just today I answered another voicemail on our website where someone told us how happy they were that we provided them with helpful content.

Content that enabled them to get started with a topic for free.

Isn't that much better than chasing people and trying to persuade them to buy something they don't really want or need?

If you also want to be able to take voice messages from your prospects on your own website, you can use the free software Speak Pipe for example.

That's what we use too!

And we don't pay a single cent for it!

And the makers of Speak Pipe don't pay a single cent for recommending it to you now either!

But it will help some of you and you will be happy that we have given you this information now, won't you?

And what did it cost us?

Just a few minutes of time and some good will.

That's what this is all about: You give something before you ask for something and you talk about what you stand for and what you stand against.

And if you do it right, the right people will reach out on their own!
