In order for our content to be presented to the right people on the Internet, it is important to know what these people are looking for in the first place. Often, people don't even ask themselves the right questions. For example, entering a term is usually logical for us, but our target customers might use a completely different term. While a management consultant is trying to position himself for the term Theory of constraints, his target customers are probably looking more for terms like performance optimization. To help you find the right terms there are so-called keyword search tools and there are a lot of them. The most popular one belongs to Google and is available together with Google Ads. It is the Keyword Planner. This tool is able to show you what people are looking for and what you would have to spend for a corresponding placement on Google to appear there on the first page. In fact, the Google Keyword Tool is also quite good, but in everyday life it is often other things that make your life easier. One of them is available as an extension for the Chrome web browser. It is called Keywords everywhere and is able to hook into the display of the search results in the Google search. This leads to the fact that for each search term you enter, not only appropriate search suggestions are displayed, but also the numbers and statistics for these search terms can be called up directly on the Google search page. We discovered this tool some time ago when we did a quite helpful course with Aaron Fletcher. This course was, as usual, about customer acquisition and this browser extension for Chrome was mentioned in passing. The great thing about Keywords everywhere is that you don't have to pay a single cent for it! It is installed within a minute and from then on, every time you search on Google, it shows you what other keywords it suggests in that context. In addition, trend data for the last few months is displayed for the search results, as well as so-called long-tail keywords. These are longer search terms but which are actually entered by real people in Google searches. Longtail keywords are usually very helpful because you can better see a person's intention behind them. For example, if someone enters the term car into a search engine, it may be that he wants to buy a new car. But it can also be that he wants to sell his car or that he is looking for repair instructions. However, long-tail keywords such as "sell car contract" or "sell car private" show us the customer's intention a bit more clearly. Later we will place corresponding ads and there you can also exclude the long tail keywords that do not match your own interests. So if you already use the Google Chrome browser for your own operating system anyway, you can install the very helpful tool Keywords everywhere with a few mouse clicks from the Chrome Store and already in 5 minutes from now use important additional information and additions in every Google search to attract more customers. But if you don't use the Chrome browser or if you don't feel like installing a corresponding extension in the Chrome browser, then there are of course helpful online tools. One of them is called Soovle and it is able to display search terms not only for Google but also for other search engines like Amazon and YouTube. This happens in real time and is also very helpful since Amazon is, after all, predominantly a search engine for potential buyers. You can assume that these keywords show you roughly the phase and intention that the customer is currently interested in. So of course in any buying process with our customers there is an information gathering phase, a decision phase and a buying phase. Someone who does not yet know if they want to buy a truck or a jeep will not yet be interested in the available colors of the seats of a certain model, because they are still in the information gathering phase. If you can identify the relevant search terms and use them for yourself, it makes it much easier for us to place our offer in the right place on the Internet to attract more customers for our products or services.
