With your hosts Joshua Wayoe and Shuhan Ali This is a rebranding of our podcast where we want to move away from a university-based podcast to creating a global community where we share our experiences and discuss all things lifestyle, culture and entertainmment. In Episode 1 of our new series, we go back to our roots by discussing how we met growing up in North London and share our childhood experiences that got us to where we are today.   Our goal is to bring you along that journey with us as we discuss various aspects of our adult life. The first Episode was a massive learning curb for us and a very beneficial one. We ran into a few troubles from wrong equipment to camera equipment. However, we have invested in better equipment to bring you all the best quality content in Episode 2! 👀🎙  But, for now, enjoy Episode 1! We will be covering applications, problems we faced and more!  

The initial aim of the podcast was to showcase our journey as uni students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to relieve the anxiety for students going through that same process. Now we're both graduates we have decided its time to move onto the next phase of that journey! In this episode, Josh and Shuhan discuss the podcast rebranding, the vaccine, and the impact social media has on depression. We're finally back recording podcasts in person whilst of course adhering to the rule of 6 in light of the coronavirus pandemic. We're sorry for the long hiatus but we've been so happy to see the continued support for our channel whilst Shuhan has been working and Josh has been finishing his degree.  In this episode, we discuss whether having the university experience online is really worth it? We talk through our personal experience studying during the pandemic and how it changes the game for students going forward.

In this episode, Josh and Shuhan are joined by Blessing Simeon (English at UCL),  Jessica Sultan (Philosophy, Politics & Economics at UCL), and Ikaay Ebi (Arts & Sciences at UCL). Three black academics and friends of ours to discuss the recent Black Lives Matter protests that took place during the coronavirus pandemic after the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. We explore racism in UK academia, racism in the UK, allyship, colonialism, institutional racism, and more. 

Life truly has its ups and downs and we are all currently experiencing that with the current pandemic. This was the last (in person) podcast we did before the lockdown period where we discuss the highest and lowest points that we've been through in our personal lives and how we came through it.   This is a very real and deep one but we hope you enjoy it and hope everyone stays safe!!
