021- Destructive Self-Sabotaging Behavior
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Destructive self-sabotaging behaviors are prevalent in our lives. Without awareness and proactive effort, we will be losing the battle of overcoming these subconscious behaviors. If you struggle to do things in life, bad mentalities, never complete anything, late to everything, put up an emotional wall, any negative behavior that hurts your success, you are dealing with self-sabotaging behaviors. A lot of personal development is about recognizing those issues that hinder us the most and then to work on them. this episode is about recognizing them and understanding why.
As humans we tend to overcomplicate things, we make simple things hard because we believe life is supposed to be a struggle. For me I relate this to math, it is my least favorite thing to study and when I make it complicated it is nearly impossible to crack but when I calm down and breath I get every problem correct. It was never hard, to begin with just my belief that made it hard. Rohit gives a great example, say he gives you ten steps to becoming financially successful. Every day you do these ten steps that take maximum two hours and you are guaranteed to be financially successful. We would overcomplicate it and think well what else is, there must be more, this can’t be that easy. We believe it will be harder to accomplish so we don’t follow through.
What we focus on and what we think about is what we create, don’t give yourself the time to back out of something. When Rohit started the GYST (Get Your Sh*t Together) Podcast with Kyle Reed and Christian Cloud right after they solidified the decision to do a podcast Rohit pulled out the mic so they can start. He did this so they wouldn’t get the chance to let fear or anything else convince them to back out. Now they have an amazing influential podcast. Recognize your behaviors and fix the ones that are holding you back. This is a continuous effort and you will continually grow from working on it.
