Please check on the pronunciation of a town before you do a story like this. Every time she says the name Yakima I cringe a little because it’s off.

I love cold case files but I”ll rate higher when they stop forcing other shows down my throat. I don’t care for I survived, Oprah or the other ones.

Love the show but why are we bleeping out the last name of a murderer and rapist because he’s a black man. You sure tell every other murderers last name. You do know we can just look it up. A and E stop being so low IQ woke and be fair. It’s not fair to the black girl victims for you to bleep out their murderers name. Clowns. 🤡

Just came on here after a while and went to go listen to the older episodes only to find I need a subscription to listen. Why can I only listen to the episodes of april 2025 and to now? This is a horrible way to advertise to buy the subscription and it feel forced.

I do not understand how these things are allowed out of the studio. Lots of time is spent with sound effects and commercial insertions, only to have the entire thing ruined by a host who has never taken the time to learn how to speak in public. Or even a basic drama class. Sad.

Are the interviews spliced? It sounds like TikTok influencer posts where the words a smashed together and the syllables are slurred. I didn’t make 10 minutes into the episodes and I had to bail. Terrible.

Dear God. How offensive can you be? In the episode about Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman, the host didn’t pronounce Lauria’s name correctly the entire time. So frustrating. Do your MINIMAL homework before presenting a case, including how to say the victim’s name. Zero credibility.

How hard is it to pronounce the name Laura? The host pronounced it “Lor-ria” the entire episode when the victim’s mother clearly says Laura. Of all the names to mispronounce, the victim’s is the one name people should get right.

The early episodes are soo bad thr host is so out of college vibes and the fact that the ads are frequently and interrupt major plot lines, is infuriating!

All this show does is repost and repost. I don’t think they’ve uploaded an original podcast in months. Every single one is just recycled through with a different title. Get some new content!

I love cold case but stop telling me what I 'might like' I can search on my own

I can’t listen to these I Survived stories anymore. When the subject is a man, it is nearly always about an outdoor misadventure. When the subject is a woman, it is nearly always about being brutalized by a man. The repetition is just too disturbing.

Every show of “I Survived” starts with a rape story and ends with a Jesus name drop. Sick of it.

Why did you allow this Christian shiester on? Andy Peterson is nothing but a prosperity gospel monger running with gimmick. He stands with Charlie Kirk, he stands with misogyny, racism, and hate.

First of all, neither one of these have anything at all to do with the classic cold case files show we know and love nor are they in any way related to true crime. They are weirdly blended into the same genre. It makes no sense. Those two subjects aren’t even related. But then when I have your show specifically set up for automatic downloads I don’t want them force fed to me on there as well! Maybe suggest it a list of that topic but don’t combine them in the same show. I do not at all wish to listen to Oprah Winfrey or that weird Indian dude yelling at me about how to better my life. If I wanted some dumb self help podcast, I would go to that genre and search for it. I don’t at all expect it to be combined with Murder mystery, and true crime podcast. We didn’t ask for it so stop forcing it!!!! I never even hit play, just remove download and mark as played. Why are you forcing this on us? Makes me want to unfollow old case and go to a TRUE true crime show instead 🙄

I agree on moving the “I Survived” episodes elsewhere that other reviewers have suggested. As a fellow survivor, I skip the vast majority of them. (Bears, wildlife, etc I’ll listen to). Commercials are to be expected and I think this one is very good compared to others in this format re: quantity & location to insert them. Overall enjoy the actual cold case files immensely! Please keep producing these!

CCF is in my top 3 favorite true crime podcasts. What happened to “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? I’m not the only listener who’s not down with this new story-jumping format. It made me immediately stop listening. At first, I thought it had skipped stories or episodes, but no, y’all actually did that on purpose. Hope you don’t plan on keeping it that way.

I would have given a 5 star review, except that these awful, UNinteresting shows are foisted upon my unwilling ears. I’m not interested in “you might also like” or “I survived.” Sorry, but I *am* a survivor of violence and those episodes are triggering in a way that CCF is not. Please stop doing this. I want to keep listening.

New format is terrible. The weird noises in the background are also terrible, you don’t need them. Who decided to play around with this when you finally had a good thing going?

I hate the new format! Getting 2-3 minutes of one story and then suddenly switching to another is terrible. Please go back to the old way.

Please tell one complete story and then move onto the next. Do not chop them up. It’s very irritating. Previous format was much better.

Agree with other reviews - jumping around between stories is disjointed. At first I thought it was an editing glitch until listening to multiple new episodes in a row.

The last two episodes of the survived series now weaves three different stories simultaneously…it’s horrible! Why would you do this, please tell one story though at a time.

The new format is so awful. You’ll learn eventually, but you should’ve already known after your first failed attempt at doing something new if you read the comments on Spotify. I’m unfollowing & will check back in a month or two to see if you decided to take the listener feedback seriously. I cannot follow story lines that jump around like this. It’s ridiculous that you think anyone would like this format.

At some point recently they started editing all the stories together and I hate it. They used to be told straight through three stories in a row but now they all start, all middle and all end in a jumbled order making it confusing to follow and hard to listen to when you just have a short ten minutes or so and want to hear one complete story. I wish they would go back.

I really love the cold case podcast, but the latest I survived episodes being broken up is really distracting and made me think there was something wrong with the recording.

The latest episode is awful. Who made the decision to jump back and forth between stories? It’s jumbled and distracting. Please don’t do that again.

I love this show but the latest episode titled Dead West: Lovers, Lies and Canyon Murder there was an ad break starting at 12:00 minute mark and didn’t end until the 19:00 minutes mark. That’s ridiculous especially since the show started with an ad “break”. Been a loyal listener of every episode for the entirety of the show but I’m so sick of long, annoying, pushy ads that it’s not worth listening.

It's a good podcast and it would be great if the adds weren't excessive amount of advertising. You start off with 2:30 of adds, get about 5 minutes of podcast, when it's another 5 minutes of adds. It's a 30 minute podcast, and at least half advertisements.

I do like the cold case show, but the fact that it pumps a bonus “you might like” Oprah podcast into my feed once a week (not exaggerating) is enough to just write this podcast off.

Brooke is annoying after a while everything is- How she feels, how she thinks. I just want to hear Bill. Thinking of taking this one off my subscription!!!!

I don’t like those suggested then automatically downloading episodes that I don’t subscribe to & can’t remove them. Hate it. It’s stupid. Get rid of it please. Otherwise, I like the Cold Case episodes ONLY.

It’s already short episodes and there’s sometimes only 2 minutes of content before another one. I can only listen so much before I’m over it.

You can’t go more than 3 minutes without listening to a million bloody ads. What’s the point of even having a show if that’s all you play

I really like the podcast and how she details the crimes.

I wish they would just let us listen to the episodes without Brooke's additional "insights" and opinions like her thoughts on lie detector testing. We get it Brooke, you don't think they are reliable and they don't hold up in court. It really interrupts the flow of the show and is really unnecessary. I have started deleting the episodes as soon as I hear her voice. If she wants to introduce the episodes then that's fine but her opinions during the show are not needed and don't add anything to it but annoyance to then listeners. Please add new shows or I will move on to other crime podcasts.

No one on North Carolina says “App-uh-LAY-sha”. It’s “App-uh-LATCH-uh.” It matters to pronounce local places correctly. If you aren’t sure, ask.

I’m sorry, but Brooke is not a good host. I’d MUCH rather listen to audio of the old tv show with the incomparable Bill Kurtis as narrator. I enjoy the stories. Not the delivery.

I really hate it because I love this podcast, but the fact that there was a commercial for anti-religion is absolutely disgusting and I can’t support your podcast anymore.

Please learn how to pronounce names properly. Elijah said Tony Alamo’s name correctly several times but the narrator decided it should be pronounced like the mission in Texas.

Commercial volume is so loud! Please adjust! While I enjoy listening to podcast the commercials are loud. Very insensitive.

I have no issue with the actual stories but I can’t listen anymore. The host/narrator has to be some execs kid who wants to get into “show biz”. Literally the worst voiceover I’ve heard on what should be a polished and professional podcast. She sounds like she’s about 14 and has no business doing voiceover. It ruins the whole pod for me.
