Blackbird Unfiltered Conversations
Blackbird Unfiltered Conversations
Loni Huston-Eizenga & Matthew Eizenga
We have brave and bold conversations. We turn pain into power. Each episode we will include great links to support, or fun or whatever we are discussing that week.
107: My dear friend Hadley on dog-walking, being a strong woman, and following our intuition.
Hello my birds! It’s time for Blackbird Unfiltered Conversation #7! I’m so happy to share my lovely friend Hadley with all of you. Hadley and I crossed paths many years ago when we both worked as dog-walkers, which is still one of the best and believe it or not, one of the most fascinating jobs I’ve ever had. Hadley was the boss lady that ran the show and I was struck by her confidence, magnetism and powerful connection to her own truth. We never talked surface stuff and that’s one of the things I love most about her. Today I want to share a beautiful conversation we had with all of you. We talked about everything from why strong women are often labeled as bitches (and why we will gladly be the bitch all day) to how crucial it is to follow our own intuition and inner wisdom. Take a moment with me and Hadley. Share your thoughts and insights. Most importantly open your ears and your heart and enjoy. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/blackbirdunfiltered1/message

105: Responding versus reacting with our lovely friends Warren & Kelsey Bunker.
Warren and Kelsey Bunker joke that their lives are a series of unfortunate events. The truth is, few have endured as many hurdles as they have. What makes them incredible is how they always manage to shift their tragedies into triumphs. Take their story in and take action to apply those lessons in your own life. 104: Parenting After Loss During a Pandemic (Panel Discussion COVID-19)
Ales for Aisley is a fundraiser we have been holding annually to honor our daughter Aisley Evelyn, who we lost during childbirth on August 5th, 2012. She would be turning 8 this year (wow). We have raised over $10k so far for numerous nonprofits for the local loss community and hope to raise more this year as well despite the pandemic. Typically we would host a private movie screening of one of our favorite movies with all of our friends and family. We would laugh and celebrate life as we raise funds to support the loss community. This year was different. On Sunday, August 9th we hosted our first Blackbird: Unfiltered Conversation, a group discussion about the very difficult, yet all to real topic of “Parenting After Loss During a Pandemic”. We gathered a group of men and women, all at different stages with their losses to share the struggles and of course insights and ideas for further healing and growth. I know what we shared will undoubtedly reach those who need it right now. We are still raising as much money as possible for Walk with Me so we can aid them in continuing to support the families in the local loss community. Please donate if you are able, anything helps. They need all the support they can get during this challenging time as they are unable to hold their typical events that keep them afloat. (Visit Walkwithme-nonprofit.org to learn more or donate).
