Does your knowledge matter to people if you don’t show that you care for them?

I absolutely love those moments of connection that I have with someone when they realize I care and have relevant experience.  People light up and suddenly let you in.  People let down their guard when they know you care.

Takeaways:

1. Acknowledge
2. Question - Inquire - Research - Observe
3. Listen with empathy
4. Don’t offer unsolicited advice or solutions

“Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”  Theodore Roosevelt - 26th President USA

"Brains are like hearts. They go where they are appreciated" Robert McNamara – Former Business Executive and US Secretary of Defense

“You can have all the technology and global forces you want, but it’s useless if basic trust doesn’t exist.” Arthur Levitt Jr., a business executive and the former, and longest-serving, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission

“You can make more friends in two months by showing interest in others than you can in two years by trying to get others interested in you.” Dale Carnegie
