I had the unique opportunity to meet Vince Holland and, I must say, I grew an admiration for him in a record breaking amount of time!Vince is an olympic weightlifter, martial artist and most recently, a stroke survivor. His career, athletic achievements and life experiences are impressive, for sure. But, what's most remarkable about him is his personality...his strong, positive mindset and sheer determination to live, grow, contribute and make an impact with his actions.Vince was a fit and active 28-year old when he suffered a stroke that rerouted his relationship with his life and his own identity. After several months of being out of work and trying to reclaim independence, he started to seek a way to also heal his mind. Regaining movement on the left side of his body, which had been paralysed, was only a part of the recovery experience that still goes on to this day. The importance of a mindfulness practice and a community have really stood out as he's navigated life on this side of a stroke. He talked to me thoroughly through his experience and overwhelmed me with his passion for life and progression.
