I went to the kidney doctor and she told me I’m about 100 days away from having my new kidney for an entire year.

That number hit me differently.

Nine months ago, I was learning how to live again. Now I’m realizing that surviving wasn’t the finish line—it was the opportunity to start building something greater.

Having this kidney for nine months has taught me something I didn’t always understand: you don’t need another person to make you happy. You have to learn how to be alone without being lonely.
