In this episode of the After29 podcast, the hosts discuss the joys and challenges of black fatherhood. So many myths and stereotypes suggest that most black fathers are nothing more than absent deadbeats. While there ARE some deadbeats around, those stereotypes couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, several studies suggest that black men are not only present in their children's lives but spend more time with their children than their non-black counterparts. The perception that the media and the world loves to portray about black fathers is proof that they fear a strong black man. Being a black father does come with some challenges but the joys greatly outweigh any that may arise. Listen to the hosts as they draw on their own experiences as fathers and why it is so important to show the world that black fathers are not only HERE but sincerely enjoy being a part of the Fraternity of Fatherhood.
