First off, welcome to THE 2022! I said THE because I believe this will be our year. Although the last few years have been difficult being in a pandemic and witnessing so much negativity, 'm so excited and hopeful about what this new year will bring.
To kick off this new year, we are talking about #Godgoals and why including Him in our wellness plans and decision making is key. Our special guest for the first part of this series is Emily Wilkins who is a health and wellness coach with over 10+ years of experience in the healthcare field and the owner of The Shades of Wellness: a premier health and wellness community for millennial women of color currently serving the DC, MD, VA, and surrounding areas.
Emily talked about how listening to God led her to start her business and how too we can work with God to plan the best wellness goals for 2022. I promise this episode is going to fill you up so much. It was such a pleasure speaking with Emily.
You can follow her business on IG: @theshadesofwellness and visit her website at www.theshadesofwellness.com to connect with her. If you're in the DMV, she has a few tickets left for HER Vision Brunch and Workshop, so you can start off 2022 with some #Godgoals.

Can you believe we're already at episode 10?! When I created this podcast, it was to be a safe space where others can find tips and resources to support them on their wellness journeys and connect with others who are doing the same or supporting others in doing so.
This episode was no different. On "Fit 4 Us", I sat down with Deja Duncan, an engineer and CPT of @Engineered4fit_ and Takera "TK" Boston (@takera.b), a personal motivator, step aerobic instructor, fitness enthusiast, writer, content creator, public speaker, group fitness instructor, communications specialist, event curator and most, importantly, a mom.
Deja and TK shared how they entered the wellness industry, challenges they've experienced as a Black woman navigating the health and fitness space, and how they have used their businesses to create a community where others can work on their wellness goals. This conversation was so needed and so heart-warming. I am glad I got to share my space with these women and what I learned from them.
If you are looking for a supportive community to support you on your wellness journey or need some encouragement to move forward, you don't want to miss this episode. Tune in and catch these gems and follow them on IG and sign-up for one of their classes.
