Peer mentors play a significant role in an individual's life, often playing the voice of reason during the most difficult of times. In this episode we will be joined by Sisis Di Flaviis Vivas, a veteran peer mentor.

Sissi is a 4th year Journalism student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. After arriving in Canada in 2012 from Venezuela, she found herself disconnected from the youth culture and was challenged by the language barrier.

After a mentor of her’s in high school pushed her to pursue putting herself out there more and giving back, Sissi found herself committed to an attitude of paying that forward to others through mentorship. She worked as a Residence Fellow at Carleton for 2 years, coaching and enriching the student experience for 50-70+ students on all of life’s challenges. She currently works as the VP Administration of the Rideau River Residence Association at Carleton, which oversees 3600 students in residence at Carleton University, and is the VP Student Life-Elect for the Carleton University Student Association, which oversees over 25000 students.
