Your Definition of Love Ep.17
Do you feel love? Or do you decide to Love? Or is it a combination of the two. The understanding of love is still a mystery to the world. Therapists try to define it. Philosophers teach to actualize it. But it almost seems that we as a people are truly confused about love. Maybe our naive understanding of love is what prevents us from experiencing it. Maybe our perception of how others define love hinders our expression. The intent of this episode is to inspire you to begin reflecting on your definition of love. I sit down with Heidi Mestanza to discuss our understandings of love, the different types of love, and our journey in expressing unconditional love to others and ourselves. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/moises-e-santos/message

A Journey to Education Reform Ep.16
How many of us work in the industry or field we received a degree in? How many of us actually enjoy what we do for a living? Does your career make you feel alive? Approximately a little over fifty percent of Americans are unhappy with their career or job choice. Now, there are many variables to this finding, but there is one solution.  Education Reform.  What if schools taught the idea of seeking and living in happiness rather than for income? What if there was an education system that taught 21st-century skills like collaboration, creativity, and resilience?  In this podcast, I sit down with Jason Hom, a veteran teacher and now Director of IT support in Uncommon Schools to discuss the idea of education reform in the United States. We discuss the key components needed in a school to deliver 21st-century skills and if there is a possible model to sustain a culture and community of like-minded educators and mentors to actually build a school that can change the way we define education.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/moises-e-santos/message

Being White is a Privilege Ep.10
African Americans have been fighting for their lives for hundreds of years now, and the Black Lives Matter movement is the people uniting once again to call out the systematic racism that not only hinders and make dreams 10 times more difficult for African Americans, but they literally kill them. Strip them away from their potential.  As a Puerto Rican American I always identified myself as a minority, but because I look white I know that my privilege allows me to have better chances at my dreams than people of darker complexion, and this is a hard truth. In this podcast I discuss my deeper realizations through the racism I witnessed my friends and family incur, the mindset behind racism, and what I believe the long term solution should be. Please listen and understand that the intention of this episode is to raise the consciousness of all human beings. The purpose is to unite all by elevating and changing our perception of the world. And this process starts by listening to difficult stories and the history of oppressed people in this country.
