The text states, “I being in the way, the Lord Led me.” This is an amazing account of the providential and guiding hand of God. Abraham’s servant was tasked with the impossible job of finding and returning with a wife for Isaac. Why was this such a heavy burden? We must remember who Isaac was. He was the Son of promise! Through Isaac a nation would be born! Through Isaac all the world would be blessed because his was the bloodline that Jesus would be born. The choice of a wife was of the utmost importance. This was the burden that the servant was asked to carry.
