As a Christian I find that I fall short in so many areas in my life. Humility will do that to you. As a husband, father, pastor and so on pretty much every area of my life is in need of improvement. As Paul said I count not myself to have apprehended. I have certainly not arrived. What amazes me is the wealth of knowledge that is out there for us on every topic available. Whether I am looking for parenthood tips or how to be a better husband or Godly pastor I can find an unlimited number of books that profess to help me to do just that. I can find books on making friends and influencing people, becoming a good leader, building financial wealth, and resolving conflict. I can even find books that have ready made sermons which would certainly save me a lot of time and effort. The great thing is there are always more books being written so if what i learn in one doesn’t work i can try a new one. Here is my dilemma. As a child of an all-knowing all-wise God, why would I go to the world for advice? Even books that are written from a bible perspective have human influence and opinion scrawled across those pages. Should not my first source in seeking wisdom and knowledge be the very source of wisdom and knowledge? That is the well I want to draw from!
