Old Forester High Angels' Share Rye released in March 2026 as part of their limited The 117 Series. Out of all the bottles we've reviewed from this series, this is definitely one of the most unique. Rumored to contain 12 year old whiskey, this 110-proof Kentucky straight rye was pulled from rare barrels that suffered exceptionally high evaporation loss, leaving behind a highly concentrated, rich flavor profile. We've gotten all kind of different tasting notes on rye whiskey, but the major note that we all got on this pour was equally surprising and pleasing. Tune into this short to find out what that tasting note is and ultimately what we thought of this rye whiskey. -------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

Back in episode 278, we interviewed Zane Brammell and he foreshadowed the all the wonderful things on the horizon for New Era Whiskey. In this episode, we taste and review a single barrel pick called from NEWS called "Cherry Cola Catastrophe." This short barrel of sourced bourbon was picked by a private club, but we recently obtained it when Jason went to the soft opening of the New Era tasting room and social club right here in Lexington, Kentucky. We've been big fans of all things NEWS. How will we fill about this pick? Join us for this short and get some great info on a place you will want to visit on your next trip to the commonwealth.

The Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archives Collection is a limited-edition annual series led by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell. The inaugural release is the Gold Foil Edition, a 16-year-old, 120-proof (60% ABV) non-chill filtered bourbon. Retailing at about $400, it pays homage to vintage, highly sought-after 1980s and 90s "Cheesy Gold Foil" releases. This whiskey is exciting enough on it's own, but we must blind. Ever since the Gold Foil Edition came out, we've all been asked how it compares to other recent sought after Wild Turkey releases. So, here it is, the new Gold Foil Edition blinded against Beacon, Russell's 15, and WT Generations. Spoiler alert: the results weren't consistent across the board, but they were pretty compelling. So join for this episode as we taste and talk about some of the best modern Turkey releases compare to one another. We also give you our full take on Gold Foil;-------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

New Riff recently added to it's "high note" collection by releasing a 10 year old, limited edition cask strength bourbon. Coming in at 116.9 proof and carrying one of the oldest age statements since New Riff began, this bourbon is what we've been waiting for. But how does it taste? We will give you the low down. In addition to the New Riff bourbon, we also elected to taste and review Silver Springs Rye which comes from an NDP in Tennessee. However, it is rumored to be distilled at New Riff. So join us for this episode as we delve into these bottles and also discuss recent releases at Buffalo Trace, Lunchables, and Anthony's anxiety for Total Wine. Cheers to 250 years of 'Merica.-------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

Last year, we included Driftless Glen in our "best of" end of the year bourbon tasting and it did pretty well. Just recently, Driftless put out a 10 year age stated bourbon at 144 proof! In this episode, we taste and review this distillery only exclusive (only 96 bottles). Big shout out to our Wisconsin crew (Gavin) that helped us secure this bottle. Join us for this short as we taste the "hazmat" American spirit.

For the third straight year, we are bringing you a review of the annual Four Roses Father's Day Special Release. This year, Four Roses changed the slogan on the side of the glass to read, "A Pour Worth Sharing. A Memory Worth Making." But, how does it taste? This years limited offering was made up of numerous OBSV single barrels that were aged 14 years in a variety of different rick houses on the property and bottled as varying cask strength proofs. Perhaps the best thing about this episode is that we recorded it on Father's Day and the whole crew was involved. Get ready for shenanigans and some surprise blinds as we give you our honest take on this annual sought after bottle.

A.I says...Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain is an incredibly rare, limited-release bourbon by Buffalo Trace that features an unconventional mashbill of corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley. Bottled-in-bond at 100 proof, the sought-after whiskey balances the sweetness of wheat with the classic spice of rye. Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably saw that Buffalo Trace recently released this bottle after an almost 10 year hiatus. It was met with much fanfare and calamity at the distillery. But, was it worth the hype? Join Kenny and El Jason as they guide you through a tasting of this bourbon and compare it with other four grain bourbons. --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!
