Historically valuable, yet heavy-handed
The personal oral histories compiled in this podcast are meaningful, often engaging, and a matter of increasing rarity. Their production here, however, remains somewhat heavy-handed, as well as inclined to conclude on a nationalistic soapbox.

Only wish the episodes were longer
Excellent show. It’s wonderful that all of these veterans’ stories will be available to future generations. A great mix of vets from all branches who served in a wide range of capacities. Perfect podcast for the commute.

Documenting History
I feel pretty lucky to have been in armed forces that had studs like these men that preceded me. It’s amazing what they did with such little technology and sometimes inadequate weaponry.

Good content
Overall it’s good but sometimes it feels like half the podcast is the host giving intros and outros

Too Political So Far
To be fair, I’m only a couple episodes in so it might change, but too often the conversations turn political instead of focusing on the story. If that decreases in future episodes I will change my rating accordingly.

Good podcast
I really like this podcast especially when they interview the World War II paratroopers

Sound
My issue is that they sound like they the bumped up the speed of their voices. Felt like I was watching a micro machines commercial

Sound quality is horrible
I’m not one to nitpick, but the sound quality of this podcast is horrible. I can’t even listen while driving because the commercials are so loud compared to the podcast itself. I’m not normally one to write reviews, but I feel that the veterans being interviewed deserve better.

Sound
Love all the episodes just wish the audio was as loud as the commercial so I can listen while I work!

Jason Redman, LT USN SEAL (Ret.)
Great interview with an inspirational leader and American patriot. Redman is direct and thorough with his response to questions about his life and his love for his country. Every American should take the time and listen to Jason Redman speak about how he has overcome his challenges and advanced his cause of helping people with their own problems.

Sooooi insightful!
I absolutely love these podcasts! There’s so much I didn’t know about the journeys of these veterans. I feel like I learn so much every time I listen to a new episode. Perfect for driving! I highly recommend.

Sound levels
Great interviews! Why can’t the recording volume be higher to save us from the contrast of the loud commercials. Some times I can’t listen while I’m driving because the volume is too low.

Too many commercials
Great channel, with horribly loud and obnoxious commercials.

Captures History!
A fantastic collection of stories from real heroes. It’s inspiring to hear them in their own words, especially the World War II veterans we are so rapidly losing. Thank you!

Great Perspectives of History
Great first-hands accounts of history that offer what you won’t find in textbooks. Highly recommended for any history lovers, especially military history.

Too many breaks
The podcast is thinking like a radio station; podcasts aren’t radio stations. The music that lets everyone know when the commercial is coming ruins everything. Think outside he box when it comes to ADs.

Awesome talks.
This is almost Exactly what I’ve been looking for listening to veterans tell they story BUT This would be so much better if 1.) they would stop playing commercials and 30 second songs in the middle of people speaking. 2.) if they didn’t play music while people talk. And 3.) if the host didn’t rush the speakers.

Great podcast featuring actual heroes
Excellent podcast that does a true service by chronicling the lives & service of various veterans throughout the ages. A must listen for anyone with a love & respect for history.

Keep looking - this isn't the real thing
If you want to hear a lot of high-ranking generals talk about themselves, this is your chance. Not many stories about the guys who did the real fighting though. Their stories never seem to get told.
Listening but not finding
A must listen
What a great opportunity to hear the experiences of veterans spanning more than 60 years in their own words. We can't know where we are going until we remember where we've been.

good first hand narratives
enjoyable to hear first hand accounts from those who were there. only problem is editing. just when the story gets interesting, it's over! I would like to see the podcasts lengthened in order to get more of the veterans story. It is almost like someone telling a joke, and the phone rings interrupting the punch line. Even with the brevity, I still consider it worth the time to listen.

Excellent Podcast
This is a great podcast if you want to hear first hand accounts from Veterans in the wars they fought. I would rate this podcast higher but, some of the shows they put out recently have not been complete. They say 36 minutes when you start downloading them, but then you only get 12 minutes of a 36 minute show. Keep up the good work.
