When you're in prison, there's not much to do. Some people read; some learn a trade; and one guy made tens of thousands of dollars! Then, we revisit the Cecil and a case we mentioned previously. It's tragic, and it's unsolved. But it's also full of fascinating details! Bonus: Diana *might* end up on next week's episode, and we chat about the cutest animal you've never heard of!

Close your eyes and picture the craziest crime story? Do you picture the "Crime for Dummies" version? Everything cliche and sterotypical? Like someone sat down and asked themselves "what would a criminal do" and then did just that? (no one would do that. That's Crazy). Or is it more like a crime story that might have been made up by a couple of high-as-balls 12-year-olds asked to write a crime story for their creative writing class?

A wife goes missing - for decades. Who is the most obvious suspect? Could it be the man who never really reported her missing? (CALL. YOUR. PEOPLE!) A husband is murdered, and his body desecrated in a terribly upsetting way. Who should be questioned first?

This month we're replaying some favorites and where better to start than with the first time we ever met Diana!?   "I swear I haven't murdered Jordan and taken her body to the middle of the ocean and chopped her into small, edible pieces for all manner of sea li- You know what? That's a lot of detail.  No, this week, I have replaced Jordan (who wanted a massage instead of a snowstorm) with your special thank-you-for-being-patient-with-a-late-episode surprise: DIANA (who is apparently cool with snow, and scheduled her massage for later in the week)! Diana puts Jordan and me to shame with a thesis, a library book, and typed, color-coded notes, as well as an awesome story of murder, kidnapping, bank robbery, and surprisingly-good music! Then we learn about ectrodactyly, the circus, and a murderous family!"

Our last Crime Cozy of the season features a stranger abduction, which you’ll be relieved to know hardly EVER happens. We end the month with some great cozy and a really adorable fact of the week.    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kelsey_Smith Kidnapped children make headlines, but abduction is rare in U.S.   And don’t forget! Sexual assault is FAR to common and underreported, although it is true that you’re much less likely to be assaulted by a stranger, which may bring you a little cozy. If you’re walking at night, especially if you’re a woman, I bet you carry your keys a specific way. I bet your phone is near your hand. It's November and we're starting with a special guest! Jacqui Nolastname joins us while we tell some crazy crime stories.  What's the most Canadian story you can think of? Diana has it!  And then we prejudge a murder suspect. Welcome to November!
November 2, 2018
It's not Tuesday, but we made a new episode anyway. Why? We have something important to share.  (Warning: This episode is personal, raw, and real and deals with sexual assault. If you're not in a place to listen, we'll "see" you on Tuesday. ) GO VOTE!   National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673      RAINN
October 30, 2018
Our festive episode this week is as dark as you'd wish. But don't worry. We're still in Crime Cozy season, so we have some very comforting stats to soothe the scary.
October 23, 2018
Crime Cozy returns! Whether it's a lover crossed or a group of people who just randomly chooses you to kill, murder is scary shit. But... is it really a big risk? Find out. And also listen to a couple totally tragic murder tales, because it wouldn't be Crime Crazy without those! And stay tuned for a great discussion of llama shirts.
October 16, 2018
Crime Cozy continues this week with a story about a home invasion (is that even a thing?) and some strict foreign laws we're never going to test! Also, did YOU know about luffas?! And don't forget to listen to the end!
October 9, 2018
You're sitting in your favorite chair, wrapped in a cozy quilt, sipping hot cocoa when you suddenly realize something is off with your drink. And you smell smoke.  Have you been poisoned? Did someone set fire to your house? Don't worry. That's extremely unlikely! *Starting this week!* Stay until the end for some awesome bloopers!   Resources: Jane Stanford's Death: https://alumni.stanford.edu/get/page/magazine/article/?article_id=36459  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Stanford
October 2, 2018
Welcome to October! It's the time of year for fall leaves, pumpkin spice everything (if you're into that...ICK!) and seriously gory, scary true crime podcasts. But, you know what, every true crime podcast goes that route. So, we've decided to mix things up a little this year. For the month of October, instead of going creepy, we're going cozy! Seriously scary crime stories with super cozy statistics about safety. In our first story, we learn some new vocabulary and what people taste like. Then Diana turns the episode serious with a seriously unhappy ending (but really comforting numbers!) This week, we also want to support some great causes!   Jacob Wetterling Foundation has a proven history of helping kids and families. VisionEnd all forms of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation through training, education, advocacy, prevention and awareness, providing care and treatment for children, families, and adult survivors. MissionWe work to end all forms of child maltreatment through education, training and prevention while advocating for and serving children, adult survivors and communities. PEACE OUTside Campus is a non-profit organization dedicated to the memory ofLindsey M. Bonistall.  Our mission is to promote peaceful and safe living environments in college communities.  Our goal is to empower students and their families to be proactive in safeguarding themselves against crime.  To mirror Lindsey's peaceful spirit, our goal is not to create a culture of fear; but rather, to build a sense of empowerment, strength and security. PEACE OUTside Campus offers programs to fulfill the growing demand for safety issues within college communities. Remember that episode where we decided we *might* be ok with killing someone who steals your AC?*  Well, we may have found ONE other thing worth killing over!* And we have NO idea why this guy thought he'd ever get away with his crimes! #HoldMyAvocado   *Not really guys! DO NOT end up on next week's episode!
September 18, 2018
Close your eyes and picture the craziest crime story? Do you picture the "Crime for Dummies" version? Everything cliche and sterotypical? Like someone sat down and asked themselves "what would a criminal do" and then did just that? (no one would do that. That's Crazy). Or is it more like a crime story that might have been made up by a couple of high-as-balls 12-year-olds asked to write a crime story for their creative writing class? Because, either way, we've got you covered this week!
September 11, 2018
Eryn can’t set fires, but this guy sure can! At least Diana’s criminal was more respectful of property. Even if ladders eluded him.
September 4, 2018
When you're in prison, there's not much to do. Some people read; some learn a trade; and one guy made tens of thousands of dollars! Then, we revisit the Cecil and a case we mentioned previously. It's tragic, and it's unsolved. But it's also full of fascinating details! Bonus: Diana *might* end up on next week's episode, and we chat about the cutest animal you've never heard of!
August 28, 2018
So many domestic issues this week leave us wondering if certain people should avoid marriage altogether. From jealous new wives to jealous lovers, no one is safe!
August 20, 2018
Know how we've started saying "Call your people" a whole lot? Well, we have some good reasons why this week. From a personal story to some old ones, 'keep in touch' proves to be really important! This week we travel to a crime-ridden hotel, traverse the world following a priest who is definitely up to no good, and make a strange request about feet.
August 14, 2018
A wife goes missing - for decades. Who is the most obvious suspect? Could it be the man who never really reported her missing? (CALL. YOUR. PEOPLE!) A husband is murdered, and his body desecrated in a terribly upsetting way. Who should be questioned first?
August 7, 2018
"Don't end up on next week's episode." Don't commit the crime. And whatever you do DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR CRIME AS YOU COMMIT IT!. Come on, guys! Also, call your people. Call. Your. People!
July 31, 2018
Drunken students, an aquarium’s shoddy security, and a hilarious idea lead to the world’s most famous flightless bird. Then, the perfect couple…may not be so perfect!
July 24, 2018
We're not gonna lie:  there's a buncha murder in this one! But even though you can see it coming (because we told you), you're going to be surprised at the how, the why, and the how much! And then a nice palate cleanser!
July 17, 2018
This week we learn why you shouldn't ride manatees, never to threaten someone's air conditioning, that Diana is weirdly upset about the environmental impact of so much murder, and what one guy got up to in Wisconsin. No manatees were harmed in the making of this episode.
July 10, 2018
Eryn tells a story of truly improbable events that uncover so, so much crime, and then Diana becomes kind of a bummer.
July 4, 2018
This week, we have friend/listener/all around awesome Ashley to talk about how the Pluims new neighborhood will help them not end up on next week’s episode, and hear a story about what not to wear.  Hilarity ensues.
June 26, 2018
From badass hero to greedy-ass killer, women can be a lot of things. And we cover the full spectrum in Episode 15!
June 6, 2018
There are a lot of new things this week including 2 stories from the past year, and A NEW COHOST! As Jordan takes a sabbatical, Diana steps in to take on the never-ending task of keeping me entertained and on topic!
May 15, 2018
Taking on some strange challenges from the Facebook group predictive text game, we tell stories about cat-crimes and cab-crimes!  Want in on the fun? Come join our Facebook Group!
May 1, 2018
First, an older woman managed to sneak onto an international flight with no passport or ticket. Now, even 12-year-olds are doing it!  And a serial husband is also a serial killer! But... how?
April 17, 2018
Jordan is back! And she brought a story about stalking and Florida and... well, you'll see! And then a mass murder with a twist! And the WORST street name we have ever heard!
April 10, 2018
I swear I haven't murdered Jordan and taken her body to the middle of the ocean and chopped her into small, edible pieces for all manner of sea li- You know what? That's a lot of detail.  No, this week, I have replaced Jordan (who wanted a massage instead of a snowstorm) with your special thank-you-for-being-patient-with-a-late-episode surprise: DIANA (who is apparently cool with snow, and scheduled her massage for later in the week)! Diana puts Jordan and me to shame with a thesis, a library book, and typed, color-coded notes, as well as an awesome story of murder, kidnapping, bank robbery, and surprisingly-good music! Then we learn about ectrodactyly, the circus, and a murderous family!
March 27, 2018
You know what's a surprisingly fun couples activity? Podcasting! So, this week's stories include a killer doctor, a questionable request for a lawyer, and the world's tallest pole!
March 20, 2018
Our sound issues are finally solved, so this time it's not a lie - we will be talking about Columbine and all of the tragedy of this as-yet unsolved issue of violence in schools.  Also, an amazing thief gets away with stealing from all of his neighbors - for years. And we can't even be mad at him!
March 14, 2018
The FBI doesn't mess around when it comes to armored car robberies, as our bad guys discovered. And then we had a great discussion of a horrible subject - school shootings and our country's absolute failure in that whole tragic area. However, we also had absolute equipment failure starting in the last several minutes of Jordan's story, so I'm still piecing that part back together (hopefully). In the meantime, enjoy the insanity of a violence-free robbery and the abrupt end of our episode!
March 6, 2018
We should probably just say it: Crime is a bad idea. Always. Almost always. Anyway, this episode illustrates how drugs can create all kinds of STICKY situations!
February 27, 2018
We haven't yet brought the same story to a recording, but on this episode, we got really damn close! Two female serial killers in the 20th century! And even their weapon is identical! Plus, if you ever get caught doing something wrong, you might NOT want to take advice from Jordan's last suspect!
February 20, 2018
A man idolizes his hero so much he decides he has to pay her a visit. Twice. A woman longs to travel - so she does. And she doesn't let a little thing like a ticket get in her way! And a handsy thief steals some expensive equipment and takes off - under water!
February 13, 2018
Does it count as knowing something about our legal system if what I know is actually just about how prisoners spend their free time? In addition, we cover stories that hurt our hearts and hit a little close to home. But we end with a laugh about an "emergency" on a Scottish farm.
February 6, 2018
We finally did it! We finally recorded and edited our second episode of the season! It only took 3 weeks! This episode is FULL of horrible, stupid criminals. Not your usual variety, but EXTRA foolish. Mistaken identities, so many Facebook posts, and the most ridiculous motive ever!
January 16, 2018
An insomniac suddenly becomes a murder suspect. A child from an abusive home grows up to have an unhealthy obsession with eyes. And someone accidentally tells on himself. Crime Crazy is back for Season 2!
December 19, 2017
Failing at being Santa, trying to reenact Home Alone, and something about an opossum getting drunk.    Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you!!
November 7, 2017
Two of the most prolific serial killers in history meet on this episode. Okay, well. They don’t actually meet. That would be horrible! But they are both on this episode (although we’ve toned down the blood, and Jordan is feeling much, much happier about it!) Also, plans for the future of Crime Crazy including a sneak peak at an upcoming episode and a short break for the holidays.
October 31, 2017
Our Halloween episode is all about the blood! The Vampire of Sacramento brings gory to a whole new level in this episode.  But his isn't the only murder committed. Jordan has found a stash of murder stories that all happen on Halloween!
October 24, 2017
You've been warned. Horrible things happen in this episode (but don't they always?) But to be fair, some of them do happen to kids this time. And yet, the story is so insane, it's hard not to listen. Also, a woman is buried alive, and a gun is discovered... somewhere it should NOT be!
June 6, 2017
Want a little bite-sized taste of Crime Crazy? Wondering what we're all about? Just wishing you could hear our voices one more time today? (Ha!) Here's a little "about us" snippet!   NOW WITH ACTUAL CRIME CRAZY CONTENT! (Love you, Lanie!)
