Very interesting
I REALLY like this podcast. Pretty bummed out that they aren’t making it anymore. If the creators are thinking about starting it back up, I would definitely donate.

It’s just ok
I stuck with it because I wanted to see how the story evolved. It was an ok story but the actors are the worst part of this whole podcast. You can tell they’re reading and they don’t act out their lines at all, it’s just flat reading. It almost sounds like they’re working out the script at a table read and decided to record it.

I honestly didn’t know what this was
It peaked my curiosity, and quickly become addicted. I really enjoy the characters. I understand that there’s this arc going on, which is fine but the episodic nature of it is great.

Abandoned Story
This has some quirks or weaknesses as other reviewers have noted I will admit to agreeing with some of them. I pushed through them as the overall story was entertaining enough. Here is why the 3-star review, I get it 2020 sucked but to abandon a story/podcast with no explanation or update is is not acceptable IMO. Even IF this is the case there is enough people involved a one minute update goes a long way.

Me x 7
My new favorite podcast , and soon it will be yours 2.
I’ve had a pretty rough month, and this podcast ( which I binged in less then a week, catching up on hours of audio on my road trip from Michigan to California ) really cheered me up & has easyily become my comfort podcast. I’m truly in love with it for multiple reasons and have recommended to all of my fellow podcast lovers. Not even just on a storytelling perspective , which is brilliant , really the pacing and character development is excellent, but the sound effects/recording is fantastic. Really! I love it. The noises and effects really draw you in. From the sounds coming from the zoo, and not even to get into the genius work in the White Silence & Perimeter. Also , I know this is a smaller thing, but as a member of the lgbt+ community, it’s really nice that the Queer people in this podcast, particularly McKayla , one of her defining character traits isn’t that she is Queer. It’s just part of the show , treated as any other trivial part of her. It’s not dwelled upon, not challenged by other characters , and isn’t treated as a “Big Deal” . It’s just normal. Part of her. It’s nice , when so often being lgbt+ is treated as something “weird” or “quirky” in a character. I really appreciate it. None the less, I’ll stop rambling- but I really do appreciate this podcast! To anybody reading this, stop wasting your time reading reviews and just start listening.

I really like it
I really like it and how the transitioned from season 1 to season 2. Acting and production are good

Intrigued
Seems pretty cool so far (9 episodes in)
I enjoy the mystery and the occasional horror sequences. The mixed in satirical parts are a bit groaning and out of place though. I hope it stays dark going forward!

Joplin is not Kansas City
So the Joplin/kc was just silly but whatever. Tried to listen to the first episode a couple of times apparently forgetting that it’s just not captivating or engaging in the least.

Season 3 please?
Season 1- good, basically the x-files
Season 2- awesome, Amos is super cute and getting in to the details of how a zoo for the paranormal runs and acquires specimens really builds the world
Season 3- the aquarium? But also some kind of confrontation with the less... ethical aspects of their work by mothman hopefully. Basically, just can’t wait for the hiatus to end

Could’ve been great
What is up with the annoying background noises? Are they supposed to be spooky? Add mystery and anxiety to a dull narration? Well they don’t, I thought my brain was gonna explode in episode 2 when the dull humming in the background started.

A fun first season
The first season was so good. I loved the stories and the spooky atmosphere. Season two was too silly and caper-y for me.

Monotone
Really wanted to like this but the narration just sounds like she’s reading off a piece of paper. Can’t get into it.

Cryptids!
I love this podcast. It is one of my favorite, I’ve Relistened too it multiple times. The characters are fun, the story is interesting and the idea of The Zoo is so interesting. I recommend this show to all of my friends whenever the opportunity arises, it’s so good and I really am excited for more.

Cool FBI take on cryptids
The narration style is fitting since the narrator is playing a former FBI agent.
The stories are interesting. All of the characters are engaging.

Not engaging
Most of the time, the narrator just reads off a page in a total monotone. When she shows emotion it seems overblown. Can’t get into it.

Just a lot of the same thing no real story.
I am on episode 4 so far it is a lot of old case files. No real encounters. This could be so much better. Shorten the back stories and allow the FBI investor to do an actual investigation. If I wanted a podcast with random scary stories. There are a lot of podcasts that do that. I am going to keep listening to see if it develops more. I hope it does.
Nickdaquick77
I love it, very misleading and idiotic reviews
To everyone calling the narration “emotionless” “awful” or “deadpan”: the narrator is playing an FBI AGENT. Emotionless is LITERALLY the whole point. The stories are very interesting, and I’m excited for more

I couldn’t take the deadpan emotionless narration. I gave it two episodes but couldn’t take anymore after that. The story failed to grip me as well.
Poppunkpizzabeard
My ears!!!
I got through 1.5 episodes and couldn’t take anymore of the awful narrations, soap-opera level acting. I just couldn’t get into the story.

Worth It For Those...
...with the patience to stick with it. Episode titled “Perimeter” was one of the scariest things I’ve heard so far this year. The episodes about the giant weird tree-thing in the road was good too, as was the one with the kids visiting the Zoo.
Mothman episode was lame, but by the time you reach it, you’ll probably be hooked on the overall premise anyway.

Wanted to like it...
I really wanted to enjoy this podcast but I couldn’t get past the first episode. The narration was too stilted with unnatural intonation and I just couldn’t bear to keep listening.

I love it!
This is by far in the top 3 podcasts I have ever listened to. It’s amazing! The story line is so interesting and cool! I love cryptid stories and this podcast brings them all together. The acting is amazing! I listen to it over and over while waiting for new episodes.

Like an old fashioned radio drama
Fun. Mostly good production value and nice plot.

Look elsewhere..
The story was good for the first few episodes..then it just got goofy.
Then like the narrators acting it went bad very fast.
Singing as the Siren..painful to listen to,it was very bad.
Then the PC rhetoric which was ridiculous.
Funny thing is the narrator doesn't want to hurt anyone's feeling but has no problem dropping the F-bomb..not that it was offensive just unnecessary.
The story line had a chance to be something great but took a turn at the wrong sign, should've keep your eye on the old sign.

Super fun. I find myself replaying over and over. Can’t wait to see where it goes.

Meh
Ok if you are out of podcasts. Writers show how stupid they think people from small towns and old people are, but that seems to be the norm nowadays.

Great cryptid story
I love cryptids. There aren't nearly enough stories that focus on them, so I was thrilled to find Zoo. I will admit, the acting and editing can be a bit wonky at times, but the writing more than makes up for that, and considering the size of the team making the show, the production quality is great overall.
My only minor quibble with the show is that the first few episodes were more of a horror-tinged look at FBI cold cases. Which I loved. Then the show soon transitioned into a more, quirky (for lack of a better word) NIghtvale-esque supernatural comedy. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as I appreciate both types of stories, but I was just wasn't expecting it.
Anyway, despite the minor drawbacks, I love Zoo. If you're into spooky, monster-focus stories, definitely check this one out!

Interesting
Stories are great. Acting is.... ok. Sometimes tough to listen to, but the stories are enough to keep me listening.

Lions and Tigers and Cryptids, Oh My!
Do you have a favorite cryptid? Then you should definitely be listening to this podcast! It's spooky, funny, and just overall really good.

Brilliant Concept and Execution
Truly unique concept concerning *******s and why they're so hard to see in the wild! And I dig McKayla's snark!

Magnificent

Wonderful!
This show is great for fans of X-Files, Twilight Zone, or really any investigation or mystery based show. The writing is great and so is the voice acting! It keeps getting better every episode. Keep up the good work!

Follow Cryptids Around America
With a subtle and engaging structure and a plotline that fills the X-files-shaped hole in my heart, Zoo is well worth your time. The subtlety in character development for Agent Kespar and the professional descriptions of buck wild circumstances make for a fantastic slow burn mystery. Can’t wait for what’s next.

Modernized X-Files focused on cryptids
If you're into urban legends, cryptids, or wanted to get into X-Files but missed the boat and just can't make it work now, definitely give Zoo a listen. Great writing, dramatic and funny by turns, excellent sound design and editing with atmospheric music.
Miche Nickolaisen
The Mothman, really?
Lost me with this current episode. An interview with the Mothman about his life? Comes off contrived and lame as bleep
Jhawkins1971
Hilarious
Love the narration style. The host is funny and sardonic and extremely well written. Like X files.
SweetChelle01
Terrific
A great show with great production values. Think X-Files only it's solely about cryptids and has more of a sense of humor. Definitely a fun listen!

Excellent podcast!
Great stories, excellent acting, and good production values. This one is on my list of “New Episode Happy Dance” podcasts.

A Spooky Delight
I listened to the first episode of Zoo on a whim after seeing it mentioned elsewhere online, and was delighted to realize what a fun gem it was. If you like any of the PNS podcasts such as Tanis or The Black Tapes, I definitely suggest you give this one a try, as it shares the same creepy and dramatic flair.

Pulled in
I wasn’t going to start this because I have so many I need to get caught up on but I’ve heard a lot of great things about Zoo. I was pulled in seconds and I can’t wait to see where the story goes, I was actually driving through Missouri when I listened to this episode so it was even more intriguing!
