Jim Ritch - Never Too Low of a Rank to Lead
Guest, Jim Ritch, talks about his experience in the Navy as a leader from the lower ranks all the way up to senior enlisted. Entering service as a former alcoholic and newly sober, he brought a unique perspective into his leadership. To this day, Jim continues to set the example for military leaders as a crucial member of the Enlisted Leadership Foundation, and a volunteer at the US Air Force Academy.    Jim’s recommendations for 3 things to start working on leadership:    Read a leadership book - great leaders read  Find a TED talk, a leader, or a podcast that is leadership based and listen to it.  Find something that makes you understand that you are the most important person in this whole equation. You cannot be there for someone else if you are not present yourself.
