Your co-hosts have a delightful and inspirational conversation with Camille Metoyer Moten. She faced many life trials starting with an arrest at age 7 during a protest for open housing, faced racial discrimination in high school, lost her mom to brain cancer, lost her dad years later as he was murder in his shop, and battled breast cancer.  Camille inspires us to never give up, always show up and become relevant in life. She continues to follow her passion and is often described as “Omaha’s most versatile singer.” Her musical travels have taken her to Barcelona, Spain, and Germany.  She has been a recipient of several awards including the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Award, Theater Arts Guild and Fonda/McGuire awards.  She was nominated as a top jazz vocalist for 2015 and 2019 in the city and has been inducted into the Omaha Black Musicians Hall of Fame as well as the Nebraska Musicians Hall of Fame.  She has released three cd’s and has written an inspirational book regarding her battle with breast cancer.
