Great Discussions!
Fantastic discussions on the gears, cogs, and levers behind the politics, policies and values of conservation. This should be on every Public Land Owner’s playlist.

Predator hunting
I am not anti-hunting, but Being a predator Hunter should automatically disqualify you from any sort of conservationist claims.

Great information on natural resource issues
Thanks for a great podcast. I learn a lot about natural resource issues I care about and frequently hear perspectives I wouldn’t usually consider. I appreciate the well rounded content.

Fantastic podcast
I live in VT and while I don’t remember how the show came up for me I thoroughly enjoy it. I have learned so much about public lands and the process. I have shared with friends and they also enjoy your perspective and approach that can be used to apply to so many issues. I enjoy the lack of taking sides and name calling that seems to show up everywhere these days. Thanks for that! And the show is simply entertaining too!

Great perspective
Analysis and perspective on issues facing hunting, conservation and public lands is helpful and extremely educational. Love the latest episode and trying to encourage us to go on the offense with public lands and how to go forward. Kept up the great work.
Thank you !!!

Inspired!
I was thinking that my kids might feel helpless as they listen to politicians threaten their most beloved fishing and camping spots. So, we put signs on our camper and in our yard that explain this land sale with our senators numbers, for ease of contact. When I went camping with them along the Payette River this week, two older men who described themselves as conservatives said in so many words, ‘over our dead bodies can they sell this land!’ Both thanked us for our poster. One, a fourth generation Idahoan, asked to post it on his Facebook. My kids and I left encouraged that this is a shared value across party lines in Idaho. They have learned that civic engagement looks like calling and writing our representatives, making posters and believing in grassroots efforts. And to generalize a bit, ATVers and birders may not agree on how the land is managed, but they’ll never concede to privatizing it. Lee has miscalculated which lands hunters love. And he has misunderstood our values from where he sits in D.C. But Idahoans have not forgotten the hunting acres lost to the Wilkes brothers. And they certainly won’t forget if Senator Risch and Crapo don’t get this pulled from the bill. Thanks for your podcast. My kids and I are inspired!

Learn and Preach, Share!!
Heroes of our future hunting privileges and public land rights. What they’ve shared about public lands politics, etc. over years of this podcast is invaluable to me. Thanks guys!

Awesome show!!
Dave and Nephi really take complex issues involved in public land policy and law and break it down into terms anyone can understand. My talking points and knowledge around public land policy and history has increased 100 fold since listening to them for the last several years. Thank you guys for what you do from a fellow Wyomingite!!

I’m always looking forward to each episode. It’s my way of staying informed about what is happening good and bad to the outdoors that I love.

The fired Federal Land Management personnel episode
A great podcast on the recent firings at the Forest Service and other Interior Department agencies. Insightful. Everyone concerned about the future of our public lands should listen to this. Way to go Dave and Nephi!

Solid podcast
This a podcast all conservationists, hunters and the public at large should listen and pay attention to. Dave and Nephi are a wealth of information. Their insights on government policy making and conservation initiatives come from time spent “in the trenches”. The podcast is well balanced, non-partisan, and substantive.

First rate!
So well researched, so informative and politically unbiased. Every sportsman should listen.

Your Mountain = best podcast
This is absolutely one of the best podcasts talking about public lands, conservation, and the legal work occurring in these areas. It is a must listen to for everyone, not just hunters but all of the public.

One of the Best!
This is definitely one of my favorite podcasts for understanding how the law applies to outdoors and conservation issues. They make an effort to make a fair interpretation of laws and legislation and do a good job of making it understandable to the common man such as me. Keep it up!

Keep it up!
As a fish biologist working on ESA issues, and as an avid outdoorsman concerned for the future, I enjoy the breadth of topics and the depth of discussion. The public at large, not just policy wonks, can benefit greatly from listening. Keep it up!

Preachy and a bit biased
I agree with one of the other reviewer’s, these guys come off a little preachy and one-sided. If you buy into their way of thinking you will likely love the podcast, but I prefer something that weighs in on these issues with a little more perspective to both sides of an argument.

Great podcast
Please don’t sell the podcast to be put in a stable with a bunch of others. Thank you for the great information sans ads. I appreciate your hard work and dedication. Always look forward to listening.

A podcast for people who want to be informed
Love this podcast. Giving the facts and giving an honest discussion on the subject.

Great Insight
Being an attorney, I absolutely love the legal review of conservation/public lands and animals issues. Even if you are not an attorney, they explain topics in a way you don’t need a law degree to understand. There is a perfect amount of details for someone with a legal background, but still “basic” enough to allow anyone to follow the conversations and understand.
Thank you guys for what you do!

My favorite conservation podcast
Move over Meateater empire. Eastmans…ok boomer. It’s Your Mountain is my jam.
What a wonderfully honest, entertaining and irregularly produced podcast from experts in their field. The hosts succeed on distilling complex issues into digestible formats without losing substance. It is done with no misplaced ego, and no pushing of products or platforms. Of note, it is also much appreciated that Nephi and Dave disagree and debate. This is a must-listen for any Wyomingite, hunter and public lands lover.

Not crazy about it...
Maybe I haven’t listened enough, but I’m just not on board with the vibe of the show, feels a little preachy, the hosts are relatively opinionated in a way that feels a bit one sided. Maybe I will circle back around and listen more and give a stronger rating later but for now this is my feedback.

I’m not even sure how I found this podcast to be quite honest, but I’m sure glad I did.

Diversity!!
I live in Wyoming and am part of a hunting family. I applaud your efforts to address outdoor, conservation and public lands issues. I have enjoyed listening to your podcasts. Excellent discussion and analysis. I have a couple of suggestions. You advocate people with divergent viewpoints should have civil fact based discussions. I completely agree. To that end, I would suggest you have representatives from groups like the greater Yellowstone coalition, defenders of wildlife and Wyoming outdoor council. Secondly, I hope you include women, urban dwellers and people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds ( eg native Americans) as guests on your podcast. In a pluralist society I think it’s always good to broaden the viewpoints. Thanks so much and I will keep on listening!!

5 star
Really enjoy these podcasts. I’m an eastern guy who has spent some time out west and longs for more time out west. I’m also a state govt employee who is familiar enough with the political game that I really appreciate that you talk about topics and issues with the detail and insight that you do. Your Mountain is one of the podcasts that I subscribe to that I’ll listen to right away when I see a new one pop up. Keep it up gentlemen.

Re Subsistence Hunting
Maddening to listen to this.
I always dreamed of going on a western hunt for elk.
The amount of public land( National Forest , BLM, etc) is owned as much by me as a Montana resident. However, I know I wouldn’t be welcome there by anyone I met on the trail or trailhead.
I have fed my family on the deer I harvested year I year out. I could be considered a subsistence hunter/ fisherman . I would never begrudge another hunter I came across in the woods.
I am a forester and basically live in the woods. I’m a member of BHA and now I wonder why, because I’m never going to get the chance to hunt out there.
Your conversation made me want to forget any notion of going out there
Thanks guys

Very articulate
The guts really dial into the issues with excellent points. They also offer balance.

Too many inside jokes
I appreciate that the hosts all know each other and seem to interact well together. And the topics and information shared are very well thought out and relevant. But when about a third of an episode involves odd inside jokes and strange tangents, it gets difficult to listen and appreciate the depth of the topic discussed. I’d really like to keep listening to this podcast but I’ll have to move on if the dialogue doesn’t improve a little bit.

Nice to see more nuanced outdoor podcasts!
As a fellow Wilderness Category podcaster, I’ve been enjoying the fellas and the show’s commentary. Too many shows aren’t nuanced and don’t wade into important public policy battles—even those that are comfortable. Keep up the work guys!

Good information
Great information and podcast, but Nephi Cole is unbearable. Guy just lets his bias show way too much, constantly interrupts, and wants to start nitty little arguements. Plus the guy wrote for The Federalist which has a major anti-public lands agenda

Get Informed. Get Involved!
Excellent Podcast- I think the work they are doing is critical. That is explaining politics and policy in laymen’s terms to those that care. If every hunter and angler in America listened to this podcast, we’d be much better off. Get informed and stop being taken advantage of by understanding the politics that are shaping your passions and future by listening to this podcast.

I like these dudes
They sound like intelligent individuals. Whether that statement is factual or not they bring forth a unique perspective to issues at hand. Non bias as one can get, IMO, plus the commentary they provide on public lands and wildlife doesn’t paint a political adversary.
As a TN resident and traveling Western hunter I suggest this podcast. Whether your a flat biller or wanna be public land advocate you will learn many things from their shows.

Facts > Feelings
Facts are greater than feelings. In a time where information is spread through headlines and agendas, these guys give factual information and both sides of issues that affect public land and conservation issues. Some of these episodes can be very eye opening, especially since there are some “conservation” groups pushing a political ideology and agenda through tactful marketing.. good job guys
