This week the Federal Reserve met, taking a 9-3 vote to keep interest rates steady again. What does that mean for the next few months for Americans? David Hays welcomes Rod Holloway from CFCI to discuss the vote as well as US GDP and more.  Fidelity Investments shared their 25th annual Retiree Healthcare Cost report this week, and David will share some of the highlights and insights from the report. It's an opportunity to see how rising healthcare costs will impact retirement planning, and what possible tools can help with financial planning.  Plus, do you know anyone who retired early - and regretted it? David will share an article about Americans who took an early retirement, without looking at some of the big-picture planning as well. For some, working an extra year or two can make a big difference in the long-term financial peace.

It's a step in the (potentially) right direction. This week the House passed legislation to make daylight saving-time permeant. What does that mean for Hoosiers, and the rest of the country? David will share thoughts on the impact - and upcoming conversations with state elected officials.  Also, is the Australian system of retirement something the US should consider? David will discuss how Australia's retirement program works, and why it may be something to consider as Social Security continues to be challenged for Americans - especially those not yet retired.  Plus - are your beneficiaries in good order? Have you looked at your income and tax situation? David will dive into the different ways people look at financial planning, and why it's important to see the big picture in things.  All this, plus Rod Holloway from CFCI with a market update.

David is back in the studio this week, as the second-half of 2026 kicks off.  Rod Holloway from CFCI will be calling in to provide a market update, as well as discuss jobs, inflation and more.  July 4 isn't just Independence Day - it's the start of the new Trump Accounts, with opportunities for saving for children. David will give specifics on the plan, as well as compare the program to Roth IRAs, 529 college savings plans, UGMAs (Uniform Gifts to Minors Act) and UTMAs (Uniform Transfers to Minors Act).  Plus, when thinking about estate planning, what assets should you consider leaving to people and what should go to charity? David is traveling this week and next, so Doug Hughes and Jim Inman are taking over the microphones for the next two shows. This week Doug and Jim will take a look at Space X Initial Public Offering (IPO) and why it's so newsworthy. They will also share what the differences are between a million, a billion and a trillion (bring a roll of pennies with you when listening).  Also, June is National Annuity Awareness Month, and Doug will talk about the different types of annuities, why they fit for some investors, common misconceptions about annuities and more. Plus - if you're 30-50 years old, you may sometimes wonder "Is all this financial talk really important to me?" The answer is a strong "Yes," and Jim and Doug will offer a variety of reasons and considerations people under the age of 50 need to think about when planning for the future.

It was announced this week that the already-expected Social Security shortfall has crept up - now to late 2032. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that "unless Congress shores up the retirement program, the depletion of reserves would trigger a 22% reduction in benefits in late 2032." David will be discussing what this means for retirees and future retirees and what Congress needs to do to fix the situation.  Also this week - as the Great Wealth Transfer begins (with Baby Boomers passing along their assets to children and grandchildren), many families are starting the gifting process ahead of schedule. David will discuss gift taxes and how to to properly manage the process.  Plus - last week's jobs reported the economy added 172,000 jobs in May - more than double what economists had expected. What does that mean for the "big picture?"
