It’s bereft of any practical, meaningful advice or tips and rarely even about the subject matter. It’s a weird, personal project that doesn’t seem to even involve finance most of the time.

That humor shows up with her bonus episode rants (which are my fav) to her curiosity with her guests. 10 outta 10 would suggest to anyone wanting to discover habits, rituals, and baby steps it’s going to take to make your first million, venture into venture capital, and/or stay humble and be a good human even with money in the bank. 💜💜💜💜💜

This was my first time listening to this podcast and I’ll definitely tune in to other episodes. I loved the episode with “Sprinkle of Faith” founder. Although Arlan wasn’t a Christian, she was very respectful and open to gain more understanding of the religion. I will definitely be tuned in! Arlan is on the rise.

Listening to My First Million reminds me of hanging out at my favorite cousin’s house listening to her real talk & enlightenment with friends of all walks of life. Every episode has value and hits on something I’m dealing with as a mother, spouse, founder, dreamer, creator, activist, mentor, mentee, history lover, capitalist, socialist and life long learner. The soundtrack & her voice puts you in just that right mood to receive it all. Definitely, my favorite (not so) past time.

Not sure how I missed the fact that Arlan had a podcast but I seen a post on Instagram and immediately subscribed to YFM. I’ve listened to three episodes so far and I’m loving it. Her interview style is laid back, she asks the right questions that allows you to get insight from the guests, and she also isn’t afraid to ask tough questions which I love. Looking forward to listening to old and future episodes as I work towards my goal to make my first million.

She has encouraged me to do and be better through her life experiences and goal settings. She keeps her interviews as casual conversations.

Very thoughtful and insightful — Arlan is on the way up. To understand her dedication and tenacity as a fellow entrepreneur is inspiring. The road is not always smooth - and will be many a change in direction from time to time, but I consider her a great and hugely positive influence...and most importantly - real. The knowledge and resources I have been lead to through you has shifted something in my life I can’t quite put into words. I feel more hopeful as an unrepresented black queer woman founder. Arlan is SUCH a terrific podcast host, both because she's a natural "lead learner," asking the questions all of the rest of us would be asking, and because she has terrific instincts about who we can all best learn from. Not an entrepreneur? Not worrying about how/whether to try for VC funding for your start-up "baby"? Please don't count yourself out! This podcast is about so much more than that... and you're going to learn something you didn't know you needeed to learn.

Arlan is a breath of fresh air. Not only is her own story inspirational but so is the new story I hear in each episode. And Arlan and her guests are genuine & humble which is something I'm really appreciative of.

Listening to Your First Million episodes has helped refuel my desire and goal to reach MY first million! I ❤️the way she conducts the interviews, doesn’t assume the answer even when she”s researched the guest, she lets the audience hear the conversation. I was skeptical at first thinking it would be all tech as I look for ways to enhance my knowledge being an start up entrepreneur but it’s the total opposite it’s a good is of value for multi faceted businesses & leaders. Kudos.

I've been listening since the very first episode and I've loved all of them. Each episode is a great blend of economic stats and the personal stories of how each person achieved their first million. So often the narratives are rehearsed and polished, Arlan either finds very authentic people or is able to help each guest share authentically. Arlan has a great speaking voice and makes her podcast fun to listen to! I love how real the show is and you can tell that even if Arlan is just speaking off the top of her brain, she’s really passionate and will get down to the nitty gritty. The best thing really is the diversity of the guests, she has high-profile to normal people who have reached their first million whether it be in funding, YouTube views, or podcast downloads. PAMELA JOLLY! WOW! What a lady! If I could transform into a real-life emoji, I would have been the face with the heart eyes the entire time I listened (and I listened to that one several times!) She loves wealth, empowerment and uplifting of Black people — watch out world! We need more people like her in our lives! What she is building, the way she is impacting economic development and workforce development in a monumental way is thrilling! - I appreciated the interview Jewel Burks. She kept it real. She shared her emotions, how she poured into her business and talks about how she assists other founders. It’s great to know she is providing pathways for other people! - Jodi Kovitz was awesome for me personally. She shared a lot about her value prop and business construct. It was helpful for me and what I am building out! (Stay tuned!) - Josh Wyatt’s story was pretty compelling. His resiliency, tenacity and tragedy-turned-triumph story was motivational. Also, the fact that he doesn’t allow for his past to be his “only story” was also pretty awesome to hear! - Keith Wasserman shows just how attainable your goals are with baby steps. He showcased that so brilliantly. It left me rather motivated to play the real estate game

At first I wasn’t sure what I would get with this podcast. I thought the concepts would be way above my head as someone who is trying to start a small non-profit with zero revenue right now, but I was completely wrong. This podcast has given me some super sound insight on how to cull a good network of people and has helped me develop a different way of thinking around business. Arlan, bravo. The world has needed your voice for a long time.
