Linds sits down with Reverend Charlotte - a minister, mother, and self-described holy troublemaker - to talk about what it looks like to pastor in hostile territory. From her upbringing in the South to 12-years of ministry in North Georgia, Charlotte unpacks the tension of leading with compassion in a culture that still questions a woman’s right to wear the collar. Together, they explore the real work of faith: showing up for the vulnerable, loving loudly in public, and finding courage when the church - and the South - make it costly. It’s part theology, part therapy, and fully a masterclass in faithful rebellion.Timestamps: Intro 00:00-1:34Shepherding Outside The Lines 1:34-10:58Relationship Status: It’s Complicated 10:58-16:25Holy Women 16:25-24:36Speaking In Love & Power 24:36-32:02From Georgia To Tennessee 32:02-37:33A Forewarning 37:33-40:02Outro 40:02-41:27

Two years after the events of October 7, 2023, Linds and D return to ask one of the hardest - and most necessary - questions: Who is your neighbor when the world tells you to look away? ⚠️ Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of sexual violence. Listener discretion is advised. This episode of You Don’t Know takes listeners into a vulnerable reckoning with faith, empire, and the people our theology forgot. Through honest conversation, they unpack how evangelical end-times teachings shaped American apathy toward Gaza and what it really means to love your neighbor when doing so disrupts your comfort, your politics, and maybe even your church.Rooted in empathy and holy curiosity, The Gospel According to Palestine invites you to question inherited narratives, rethink what “faithfulness” looks like, and move from silence to solidarity.Timestamps:I. Privilege: the word that makes people clench - but we help you to unclench with belly laughs, real talk, and our resident data wizard, Steph. In this cozy throwback couch-chat, Linds and D flex their “empathy muscles,” rethink privilege as the obstacles you didn’t have to face, and kick around practical ways to use what you’ve got to open doors (not guard them). It’s unstructured, a little spicy, delightfully imperfect (yes, there are sirens and mic bumps), and packed with stories, aha’s, and the kind of questions that nudge you from “yikes” to “okay, I *can* do something.” Come curious... leave with kinder lenses and a tiny plan to try this week.Timestamps:I. Why does any of this matter? Is this just a podcast you tune into because you enjoy our banter? Maybe it makes you feel better to expand on our understanding of certain topics involving our neighbors... but what next?
We wanted to spend some time talking about a word we hate - volunteering. What's our first reaction when we hear the word? Why do we do it? Why do we feel compelled to and/or guilty about (not) volunteering? What does it mean for us... our neighbors... our society... our time in history to be a people who know what we think about volunteering?
