I started on one podcast and can't get through it. The podcasters spend the first 17 minutes talking about personal matters—a personal trip to Japan, a friend on Facebook saying something else to another friend on Facebook—that no one else can relate to or care about. It's like listening in on a private conversation where I, as an outsider, am not given any context. There's a way to talk about nothing—see Seinfeld. But their approach to talking about nothing is neither interesting nor entertaining.
