A very up-and-down week for Yankee baseball, Jose, Ryan, and Brian break down this week's two series and six games. The first series started slowly with a loss, but the Yankees won the last two to win the series. With an 8-1 victory in Game 3 against the Royals, hope was high going into Boston. Hope quickly faded as the Yankees were swept and lost the final game 9-2. Yankee world has fallen into despair on possibly missing the playoffs and what will happen for the rest of the season leading into the off-season. 

Ryan leads us into this week's news, talking about Kluber and Sevy working their way back for a possible August return and O'Day and Wilson looking to come back sooner than later. That is good news as the Yankees Bullpen experience injures, Britton and Peralta being the new names added to the 10-day IL. After the injury update, Jose and Brain continue looking into the minor leagues for someone to spark the roster as the trade deadline approaches, and after being swept by the Red Sox, playoffs become a dream. We speculate with trades and figure out what moves the front office could make to help future Yankee teams. 

The Yankees finally show life against an AL East team sweeping the Blue Jays and then winning a three-game series with the A's as a team-first in their division. Of course, the Yankees bats aren't back, but this is the first step in the right direction. Jose, Ryan, and Brian do a deep dive into every game of the series, looking at the pros and cons of the games as we try to figure out the inconstancy of the Yankees. 

In this weeklies update, Ryan leads Jose and Brian through this week's injury updates, including Luke Voit coming back and starting and bullpen arms starting to make their way back. Then, we take a quick look at the Yankees' prospects and talk about who might be called up or even used in a trade at the deadline in a win-now situation. Finally, that leads us to the conversation of who the Yankees target in a trade, with a center fielder looking like the position of need. 

In a series victory over the Twins, the Yankee's bast finally starts to look alive, putting up runs and getting hits. The only issue is that the taxed bullpen finally starts to show some cracks. The trend of the Yankees cant put it all together continues, as the starting pitching is horrible against the Phillies, leading to a short two-game sweep. At least the Yankees put up some offensive numbers against poor pitching but still just went 2-3 this week, ending on a three-game losing steak. 

In this episode of the Yankee Nation Podcast, Jose, Ryan, and Brian start this episode by going over the weekly injury report. Zach Britton is officially back, Luke Voit is beginning his rehab assignment, and sadly Luis Severino suffers a leg injury while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.  The episode quickly takes a turn into us trying to figure out what actions the Yankees should take, as Ryan asks the tough questions about this World Series window and the possible moves of this offseason. We have many great thoughts and ideas, including calling up AAA players, trade ideas, and many other potential actions to help this team find its way back to its winning ways next season. We also talk about what we would do if we were in charge of the Yankee organization and what steps we would make. We finally end on a high note with Brians history lesson. 

If you can tell by the title of this episode, this will not be a happy one. Jose, Ryan, and Brian are p[retty much at a loss for words with the Yankees offensive struggled along with the baffling roster moves and bullpen management. A common theme was the Yankees' lack of fire and life, leading to this sweep. On top of that, the odd resting of Giancarlo Stanton only added insult to injury, as the Yankees rested in a sweep against the Detriot Tigers, only to go 2-5 against the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox.

As the Yankees try to get healthy, with Luis Severino and Zach Britton starting their rehab assignments,  we ask can they hit. Ryan leads Jose and Brian through this week's Yankees Weekly Update as we look into the Yankees' overall hitting, baserunning, and defensive struggles. Next, we play a quick game of who we would want to fix in the Yankees roster if we had magical powers. Finally, Brian closes it out with a new edition of This Day in Yankee History. 

After the last episode and sweeping the Whits Sox, Jose, Ryan, and Brian were in high spirits, but it did not last long. Since then, Kluber and Voit were placed on the IL. Then the Yankees got swept by the worst team in the MLB, the Detriot Tigers. This series was fueled by bonehead decisions by Aaron Boone that made us feel very uncertain about the future of this Yankees team. 

Cory Klubers no-hitter was by far the best moment in Yankee baseball this week, but it was not the only great moment with the Yankees sizzling hot. Jose, Ryan, and Brain go over the week in Yankees baseball, covering the recent injuries of Aaron Hicks and the possible return of some pitching arms.
