We got on this topic as we were struck by the conversation of how prepared we would be in the face of survival, such as being to know where north is, or how to build a basic shelter. As Andy has moved out from Sydney to a small regional town recently, in this episode we go through the difference between regional/rural vs metro life specifically for Asians. Mei-Wing has also done a few stints in the regional area for her previous job where Jason has not been exposed to regional life at all. Thus, with three different levels of experience, we dwell on each person's individual experiences are and expectations. XO Jam Podcast crew is wishing you all a happy Chinese/Lunar New Year for 2022! This episode starts with a BANG for the beginning of our Season 2 podcasts. In this episode, we explore the things that we do during CNY, such as giving red pockets, fireworks, family dinners, and the food that we eat on special occasion. It's interesting that even though we all celebrate Chinese New Year, we all do it differently - Andy only realised that you have to bless the counterpart in order to receive your red pockets lol! It is 5 days late to our Christmas podcast (so sorry about the delay, we actually did record this prior to Christmas but it took me so long to upload it). In this podcast, we deep dive into what Christmas looks like to us, specifically Asian Australians. Here we talk about how we would celebrate Christmas such as giving specific presents to whether we would set up Christmas trees. We also talk about having a Summer Christmas where it deviates from the norm of a "White" Christmas in movies and what we long for as our ideal Christmas.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2022! This episode will conclude our first ever season since starting this podcast early this year. We have come a long way from organising the recording room (Andy repainting the whole room white and re-arranging the furnitures) to Jason purchasing our podcast setup (mics/headphones/interfaces where the three of us agreed on the prices). We have thoroughly enjoyed producing these episodes and will continue to do so in 2022. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to listen to us rambling on random Asian Australian things and I can't believe we have done a total of 16 episodes for this season! Our take on the new recent Asian blockbuster Marvel Movie! Here we dive into the new Shang Chi movie, where we talk about what we loved and what we hated in the movie. We all had different opinions so it's a good discussion to have, whether it's from the cultural appropriation to the plot and GFX! Nevertheless, it is so refreshing to see an Asian superhero in the Movies, we have lacked Asian representation in the movie industry for so long.  Let's dip right into it!

Sydney is finally out of lockdown after 4 months where no one could leave their local council of residence. Restaurants, pubs, movies were all closed during the lockdown.
