Write Your Story with Ally Fallon
iHeartPodcasts
We are all creating the stories of our lives each day. Sometimes it’s hard to believe in a happy ending when were in the middle of chaos – or to understand the transformation we are undergoing when we're being tested over and over again – but I believe we are all here to learn, grow, and discover more of who we are in this life and I want to help you do exactly that. Let’s uncover the meaning of our stories together. The stories we tell ourselves about our life matter – and only we have the power to edit, upgrade or re-write them altogether. Only we have the power to become the hero we want to be. Only we can change the narrative of the story we’re telling ourselves. If we’re sick of being the “girl who got dumped” or the “guy who lost his job” or the “villlan,” the “helper”, etc — what choice do we have? We get creative and we write a new story. As a bestselling author, I’ve learned the principals that make stories tick and I've taken many of my life stories and put them to paper. What I have learned is that stories have a lot to teach us about what matters in life; and that one of the most powerful things you can do to heal is to face your story head-on. To co-create the ending. To uncover the thread that holds the whole thing together. To become the hero you would want to see on the screen. I’ve taught many others how to do this and I want to share these insights with you, too. Everyone wants to make meaning of their story (me included) and it’s never too late. You can become a completely new person with a whole new story in just a few short years. So let’s go on this journey together. Come with me as we explore how to become our authentic selves and live our true stories. We’ll explore personal growth, self-help, psychology, spirituality, and so much more. It’s never too late to rewrite your story.
Do You Trust The Unfolding of Your Life?
It’s easy to trust the unfolding of your life when things go the way you expected or planned.  But what about when things fall apart? When the loved one dies? When the friend betrays you? When the marriage ends? When the business deal goes south? Do you still trust that your life is taking you somewhere beautiful? Or do you feel the need to fix and control? To make something great if your life? To manipulate and manage the unfolding? This is a lesson I’ve had to learn more than once in my life and it’s a lesson that’s sinking in even deeper this time. We’ll unpack it together on this week’s episode.   Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Less Effort, More Reward: How to “Fix” any Problem
Whatever problem you’re facing in your life right now, you’re probably crushing it.  (“I’m actually not…” I can hear you saying—but you are).  Your heartbreak. Your debt. Your divorce. Your loss. Your unexpected detour.  You have brought all of your amazing wisdom, all of your hard work, all of your creativity to the table. And since you have more of those things than the average person, this problem should be fixed in no time.  So why is it not?  Why are you still staring down the barrel of the same dilemma?  On today’s episode I share a concept that changed the way I see my problems forever. It’s a concept that revealed a much quicker, much more effortless, much more sane way to approach any problem in my life.  This is the most vulnerable story I’ve shared to date. Which is saying a lot.  I hope you see yourself in it.  Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Role of Surrender in Being Yourself
The idea of surrender has never appealed very much to me.  I’ve found more value in qualities like desire, passion, creativity, and personal agency.  But lately life has pushed me to the place where surrender is my only option.  And I’m learning not only why surrender matters but when it matters. Because surrender alone isn’t the answer to all of your problems (or mine). But when the moment of surrender arrives, you have a choice: to trust and leap or to suffer at the edge of what’s calling your name. The Most Potent Fertilizer For Creativity
There is a fertilizer for your creativity so powerful, so transformative, that it will wholly change the way you experience your life and your art.  This vital nutrient can make you unstoppable and prolific. The problem is, most of us are avoiding it. (Myself included).  We tiptoe around it, sidestep it and organize our lives hoping we never have to experience this thing that is ultimately a portal to our most creative selves.  On today’s episode I reveal what this fertilizer is, share my story of discovering it, and invite you to use your grief (yes, grief) as vital nutrients to your life and growth.   Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The One Thing AI Shouldn’t Replace
AI isn’t exactly new anymore, but the questions around it are only getting more personal. As it becomes more woven into our work, creativity, communication, and everyday lives, it’s worth asking: what are we comfortable handing over, and what should remain deeply human? In this episode, I’m not talking about the usual fears around AI taking creative jobs or writing all future books. I’m interested in something more personal — the part of us we may be tempted to outsource without even realizing it. AI can be useful, powerful, and even creatively supportive. But there are some things it should never replace. Take a listen and see what you think. Take a listen and tell me what you think. Let Your Creativity Lead
If you’re like me, you’re used to letting your productivity lead. Your efficiency lead. Your organization lead. Your hard work lead. Your responsibility lead. What would happen if you let creativity lead? By creativity, I don’t mean art, although art is a welcome byproduct of creativity.  By creativity, I mean…  Your curiosity. Your imagination. Your vitality. Your essence.  And when we let this part of us lead the rest, suddenly life starts to “work” in a way that it hasn’t worked before. It’s counterintuitive. It’s counter-cultural. But it’s very powerful. Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Stop Trying to Make It Good
One of the primary reasons creatives stay stuck is that we are trying hard to make something “good” I tell aspiring authors I coach that the fastest way to write something terrible is to sit down hoping to write something amazing. Something profound. Something worth reading. Instead, if you sit down intending to tell the truth, the truth will take you exactly where you need to go. It might be messy. It might be painful. It might not inspire millions or make you famous. (Or to your great horror, it might).  But it might become something more than you could have even dreamed about — because it was beyond your consciousness.  Let go of trying to be good / make it good. Instead follow the inspiration, tell the truth, and trust what unfolds. Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Creativity and Money
I can still remember being told by well-meaning adults in my life that “you can’t make money from your creative work.”  But is that really true? In this episode, I trace back my beliefs about money and creativity and share what I’m learning about the inevitable connection between the two.  Thanks for following along!    Check out The Illusion of Money here. You Have Permission to Get It Wrong
I don’t know about you but I have a hard time being wrong.  I like to have all my ducks in a row, all my affairs in order, all my t’s crossed and i’s dotted so that nobody can ever come after me for not being intelligent or prepared.  But I’m learning this obsession with being right is getting in the way.    Of my creativity.  Of my love.  Of my ability to grow.    So this week’s episode is exploring the permission to get it wrong.  To mess it up, fail, falter and fall apart.  Until you have permission to get it wrong, you don’t have permission to do much of anything worth doing. So let’s get started.    Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Are You Afraid to Be Seen?
Do you feel lonely even when you’re surrounded by people? Does it sometimes feel like nobody “gets” you?  Do you worry that if people really knew you they wouldn’t stick around?  On today’s episode, I’m exploring the wound that so many of us carry (especially women) which is a fear of being truly seen.  If you share this wound, you likely don’t have a fear of being visible. You might even strive for visibility in the form of affirmation and praise. You’re probably regularly celebrated for your efforts, your achievements and maybe even your looks. And still you quietly wonder: does anyone even like me? I’ll share my journey to healing this hidden wound and offer some simple, inexpensive and even free healing tools.  Including my book-writing course at a discounted rate.  abookinsixmonths.com  Code: GIFT   Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
